Markov Injury

He will be out up to a week with a MCL injury.

Source Team 990.

This will be a good time for Janne to prove he can play and play well.

In some ways this sucks! but in other ways I'm relieved there's actually an injury and he isn't on the outs with the coaches and was benched. Call me paranoid, but I got worried when 3 of the russians were all sat in the same game...

Yes...Carbo's seemingly random benchings have me befuddled as well. (Keep Kovelv and Ryder in, pull out Samsonov just as he's finding his game, punish Rivet for working hard, etc.).

Anyway, if it's only a week, I'll count our lucky stars. Phew.

why would he bench ryder? he makes like 2m a year,as 15G ,20A. for want he gets paid i think were getting pretty got bang for our buck, when you look at some of the other playes on our team. ryder is far from the problem on this team.

It's funny, I'm usually a Ryder defender, but this year he seems to have become completely invisible. Then again, he's putting up his usual decent numbers. I'm not arguing that he's the problem, just that he has not been anything like the presence he's been in the past, scoring clutch goals. He may be a fair-weather kind of player - most likely to get hot when the rest of the team does. In any case, he was just an example.

That is exactly what Souray was talking about in his interview after the game yesterday. Too many players are stepping up their game when the win is practically in the bag, and they aren't showing character and stepping it up when they really need to.
