CBHabs_fan
Funny how we lost last night to a lower team who was "trending down"
shortcat1
Funny how we lost last night to a lower team who was "trending down" big deal... there's lots of games to go and whatever happens, (to quote my son) it's all good. GO :hlogo: GO!
bobby
The trades don't impact the playoff picture one iota. Go to www.forecaster.ca/cbc/hockey and look at previous years deadline deals. Of all the players who get traded every year for futures, there is almost no evidence to support the assumption that they improve their new team's playoff prospects. Chris
Well accept Edmonton getting a goalie and reaching game 7 for the cup.
Strummerman
I agree most of the time the rental players dont make much difference. That's why we should have traded Souray and built for the future
Fanpuck33
Hmm, Edmonton and Carolina were both buying last deadline and they did pretty well for themselves in the playoffs.

CoRvInA
with the islanders picking up smyth they are in the playoffs. The difference is that the Isles have been playing much better hockey than we have! they arent better than we are but they are on average more consistent than we are! and even without Smyth there chances of making the playoffs were a level better than ours... with Smyth (as long as he fits well) they have secured that.. NOTHING MORE... no way is Zednick and Smyth gonna do more than round 2 and then for what? Zednick signs for 2 years?? big deal!
Chris
Well if the Islanders are more consitant then the Habs, then yes they are better, they also have more points which makes them better. With the 2 new additions now they are much better. So it's on the Habs to play hard every night and make the playoffs. If not, they'll be golfing early this year.
