DjStang
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=90575 ..if this takes Pittsburgh out of the running for Kovalev?
bombTHEice
It would be a huge surprise if they would also sign Kovalev. And if the Pens really sign Kovi ... where do they get all the money for such players?
Guy10
Maybe Mario's selling blow on the side?
ch_nl
Good for us.
ch_nl
WTF?! "Pittsburgh Post-Gazette columnist and FoxSports Radio 970 commentator Stan Savran is reporting that his sources indicate that Kovalev will be signing with the Pens some time next week. He says that the sources indicate that while the deal has not been signed it's "virtually a done deal."
simonus
well.... im pretty sure i heard that pennsylvania had passed that law putting slot machines in the state. I remember that the pens were always pushing for that to help fund a new arena... perhaps that has something to do with it.
Prime Minister Koivu
I am really suprised by this. Maybe pittsburg is actually going to go for it. Mario's big comeback with recchi and kovy. Damn
huzer
Where'd that come from? Savran isn't even a hockey beat writer for the Pens, he's just a general sports guy.

sakiqc
IMO it's pretty impossible pittsburgh can sign both Recchi and Kovalev.. makes NO sense. It's already unbelievable they got Recchi!! They can't even pay mario.. how would they get kovalev and recchi.. forget that, it's common sense! As far as I know, Penguins's plan for a new arena wasn't accepted, Mario still had to be paid.. he won't give millions to kovalev for a deseperate cause. They signed Recchi .. that's already great,, Anyways.. Kovalev back in Pittsburgh?? will never happen
ch_nl
I think you said it yourself. It's allready imposible that they've signed Recchi... And if that was imposible why wouldn't they be able to sign Kovalev as well?
Ribeiro
They're certainly desperate enough. I wish the Habs had Recchi... I wouldn't be surprised if Kovalev doesn't come back to the Habs. Montreal doesn't exactly have the most forgiving fans. If he doesn't sign, then the Habs are without a big star.
