Colin
So, with Dubliviewitzszsz picked up by the Jackets who already have Mason and Leclair, does this mean there's a trade afoot? Is Spezza going to the Jackets for Leclair?
Tony
Leclaire's ankle is in bad shape. He went to see a specialist in Cleveland a while back and he was told that surgery should take care of this. Leclaire has been reluctant to get the surgery but my guess is that the addition of Dubbie pretty much confirmed he's gone for the rest of the season. Gone as in getting the surgery. Tony
Not gonna happen. Sens need to turn the page on this season and try to fix this problem within the UFA system and put more emphasis on improving their scouting department. It just hasn't been the same since Timmins and Frank Jay left (and ironically joined the Habs). Murray is so desperate for a puck moving defender that he's willing to give a try to Erik Karlsson next season. Sure, he's got some serious potential to be one hell of a PP QB but the kid is 5-11 and weighs about 170 lbs if you round up. Not exactly a smart move to rush their most recent first round pick just because their NHL team is sucking. Let the kid bulk up and get playing time in the AHL at least before thinking NHL. Fanpuck33
The Islanders should totally sign that Capitals web designer who dressed for part of a game while they waited for their newly recalled backup got to the arena!

Colin
You might get your wish Colin, I've heard a bunch of rumors of Spez going to the Avs for Leo/Liles The rumours here are endless, and the divide is almost even as far as I can guage. Half the people are desperate for him to stay, the other half equally desperate for him to go. He reminds me of Yashin to a degree. All the talent in the world, but he only puts the effort in when he feels up to it. Actually, that sounds a lot like Kovalev too.

I want him to stay as a Sen but I'd like him to be an Av too (Spezza is one of my favourite players in the league). So I won't mind if he's traded but only to the Avs.

Tony
I'm sure Spezza won't be moved but I wouldn't be surprised if Alfredsson is kicking himself for signing that extension. Same came be said for Murray, he would have looked like a genius to deal him at the deadline and re-sign him in the summer.
Mils
Well see, as an Avs/Sens fan, I'm torn. So I won't mind if he's traded but only to the Avs. With Shattenkirk and Cumiskey in the system and Leopold and Liles with the big club, we have at least one too many of these 5-10/5-11/6-0 180-200ish pound puck moving defensemen. Spezza would be a nice acquisition, but my biggest concern would be that he's a centerman. This creates a little bit of a log jam at those top two centre spots. Unless he can transfer over to the wing, I think we'd be better off search for a winger with Spezza-type skills. A playmaking second-line winger with Wolski in the middle and a decent winger on the other side would be good for now as a second line in my opinion. However, if the proposal is Spezza for Leopold or Liles, take it or leave it, I'd take it. Edited January 18, 2009 by Mils

I don't mind because I've got a feeling Sakic is done after this season so it would keep that nice 1-2 punch at C the Avs have always had. However if Wolski's play at C keeps up then you're right, it would be smarter to look for a winger. I've been starting to throw around ideas for a Kovalchuk package in case he decides to want out of Atlanta at the deadline, since his contract is up. Liles for Spezza I'd do in a second though. Would certainly make the Spezza jersey I got at Christmas go to waste though.

EIther I'm seriously underrating Liles, or you're seriously overrating him. lol
