dlbalr
It could be a tough couple of games for the IceCaps (9-5-5) as they are in Toronto to take on the league-leading Marlies (15-3-1) for a pair of games. The Baby Leafs have lost just once in their past 11 contests which happened to be to St. John's. The Leafs sent down Scott Harrington earlier today so he'll likely be in the lineup. Hudon - McCarron - Carr Bozon - Dumont - Gregoire McNally - MacMillan - Fournier Blain - Miceli Thrower - Ellis Tinordi - Didier Hanley - Lernout Bennett Pasquale (Based on previous +/- data.) Leipsic - Carrick - FrattinSoshnikov - Nylander - PanikKapanen - Arcobello - HymanBailey - Findlay - Leivo Campbell - Valiev Brennan - Harrington Percy - Loov Bibeau Puck drop is at 2:00 PM EST on Saturday (from the Air Canada Centre) while Sunday's contest is a 1 PM start (at the Ricoh Coliseum). AM 930 and the ever-so-scratchy feed has the call.
DON
Gregoire on 2nd line looks good to me. (not that it is a good thing for team though to call on him to be top 6, so early in rookie year)
dlbalr
Gregoire on 2nd line looks good to me. (not that it is a good thing for team though to call on him to be top 6, so early in rookie year) Gregoire had been playing well so he was worthy of a promotion of some sorts. The scary thing is that Bozon is on the 2nd line. He was a 3rd liner in the ECHL. I know they wanted to ease him in but that's not really an option. dlbalr
Barberio isn't playing. Yikes... He blocked a shot off his right ankle late last night. Thrower's in for him, while Pasquale gets the start.
DON
Ellis & Hudon on the PP points.
dlbalr
Fournier scores? Wow, that's two for him on the season now...
DON
Fournier with some PP time, that seems scraping bottom of...he picks top corner and scores? sweet jesus, who could of foreseen that?
dlbalr
Fournier with some PP time, that seems scraping bottom of...he picks top corner and scores? sweet jesus, who could of foreseen that? When you run forwards on the PP points, that means more than the top two lines have to play on the PP. (Looking at the +/- data, there were four forwards on the second unit as well with MacMillan also out there.) There better not be any forwards complaining about ice time... dlbalr
Leipsic ties it up on the PP.
dlbalr
Tie game after 1 with all sorts of hilarious technical difficulties in the intermission. The PBP guy is trying hard not to lose it...
dlbalr
Dumy-Dumy-Doo (that's a new name for Dumont) scores to make it 2-1 IceCaps. Tinordi and Gregoire with the helpers.
dlbalr
And again the lead doesn't last long, Frattin ties it up.
DON
Nice to see Gregoire and Tinordi both get on scoresheet. (How many games will TInordi play 3? or is he allowed to play more?) Sniper Fournier strikes again!!!
dlbalr
Fournier scores again. What's going on here? McNally and Miceli with the assists.

dlbalr
(How many games will TInordi play 3? or is he allowed to play more?) My guess is that he'll just get the 3. Maybe with the injuries down there they'll decide to let him play out the two weeks (they play Wed/Fri/Sat next week).
DON
Gregoire now with 5 shots. (and only player who is +2)
dlbalr
Hudon scores in the first minute on the PP to make it a 2 goal lead. Assists to Dumont and Ellis.
DON
CH(8) with PP goal and up 4-2 now, cool!
dlbalr
Hudon (aka Chucky Boy, apparently) scores again to make it 5-2. They might actually pull this off... Didier and Carr with the assists.
dlbalr
Carr scores into the empty net, 6-2 'Caps is the final. The rag-tag bunch actually beat the league leaders, wow. http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1014971

DON
Just watched goal highlights; 1 Nylander gift-wrapped goal (turnover) to Fournier. Didier let guy get way too close and roofed one on Fucale. 2 Dumont short-side roof (like Galchenyuk's vs Rangers) Tipped shot for T.O. 3 Fournier wrap-around, nice goal. 4 Slapshot from point to top of net by Hudon (McCarron in front of net likely helped). 5 Hudon basically a breakaway and nice deak. KoRP
As always, thanks for the updates Don, it's like you are locked on the prospects by the minute
BlueKross
Maybe in the case of Fournier, we prematurely have pigeon-holed him as slug. We may be the only club that have given the Marlies any trouble. I may regret saying this, but KUDO's to SLY for having the boys ready to go. Have we turned a corner here?
