dlbalr
The most important weekend of the season has arrived for St. John's. The IceCaps (35-29-10) need two points over their last two games against the Marlies (41-28-5) in order to clinch a playoff spot. If they don't get in, it will be the final two games in franchise history before the team moves to Laval next year. Joel Hanley missed the 3-in-3 last week with an illness so there's a good chance he's back. Daniel Carr (head) has been out with a head injury more commonly known as a concussion but of course they can't use that word specifically - no word yet on his availability. (Lines/combos based on +/- data.) Johnsson - O'Reilly - Griffith Leipsic - Gauthier - Moore Rychel - Findlay - Clune Timashov - Kalinin - Sislo Campbell - Holl Valiev - Oleksy Nielsen - Wrenn Bibeau Hudon - Terry - Scherbak Matteau - de la Rose - Friberg Veilleux - Audette - Farnham Broll - Petti - Camara Hanley - Redmond Lowe - Didier Brouillette - Lernout Lindgren Puck drop is at 6 PM for both games, AM 930 has the call. DON
Loss in OT followed up by 2 goal lead squandered tomorrow for regulation loss.

Ever the optimistic one, aren't you? That still might be enough to get them in if Utica doesn't run the table in their last two games. dlbalr
Not a great start for the IceCaps as they trail 1-0 in the opening minutes.
dlbalr
An apparently soft call on St. John's led to a Toronto power play and they made the most of it - 2-0 now.
dlbalr
The IceCaps get a PP of their own and, for once, scored - Hudon with his 26th of the year. Hanley and Terry with the assists.
DON
They are still hanging in there.

DON
Holy crap, down 4-3 end of 2nd. Hudon & delaRose with goals. Not done yet.

Tough end to the period though as they coughed up the go-ahead goal to Griffith just 30 seconds after de la Rose tied it. Utica and Hartford are tied at two apiece after 20 minutes. dlbalr
Valiev got an empty netter to make the final 5-3. Utica's up 3-2 after 2. Hartford needs to come back in the 3rd. http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary/1017004

dlbalr
1-0 IceCaps after 1. It's likely that St. John's will need the win as Syracuse is resting quite a few regulars tonight against Utica. Case in point: They couldn't have done that yesterday against an opponent that wasn't in a playoff chase?
dlbalr
Camara, Terry (who set a franchise record with his 30th), and Audette all scored and the IceCaps held on for the 4-1 victory, clinching a playoff spot in the process. http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary/1017018
Commandant
Syracuse is winning 4-2 in the third. I believe the ice caps play syracuse if they win their game.
