JMMR
I saw that earlier. Yet another Canadain bank buying naming rights to an NHL rink. Suprisingly most of the time they but naming rights to amaerican rinks. jetsniper
That sounds so stupid. I know it's petty but Scotia Bank doesn't belong on the name of an arena. Corel Center>>>>>Scotia Bank Place
JLP
Naming rights suck. And ads on the boards and on the ice. Creeping commercialization, and the "delmar.ca turning point" will be when the patches hit the jerseys like in Europe. From there companies may try to take over the team names, even -- in Japan the pro baseball teams don't even have city names, they are all corporate. For example, the "Yomiuri Giants" are the Tokyo team. How about the "Nippon Ham Fighters" (real name) eech! White boards clean ice and "The Forum" would suit me fine. ddawwidd
Oh well... When I watch hockey news in Czech TV sometimes I can hardly see the puck - so many ads on the ice. I don't know (tommy - help! ) if they still have ads on the GLASS behind the nets, but I saw that, too. In Poland there are also ads, but not as much as in Czech Republic. Why? Because not many companies want to advertise by hockey
