les_glorieux
Last NHL season is what I meant. Hint: Player #1 set his record in the early 90s. Player #2 set his record in the late 80s.
Strummerman
ok I cheated yuk yuk yuk Selanne most goals in a month and hakan Loob most points in his last year Next question- Dickie Moore became the single season point leader of all time when he got 96 points- whose record did he beat? As well as a throw-in what 2 father son combos have played for the Habs?
les_glorieux
LAME just kidding. good question.
jetsniper
Gordie Howe with 95 points was the record before, I think. I only know one father/son combo (I'm sure the other one is really obvious and I'm just forgetting it) Bernie and Dan Geoffrion.

jetsniper
I know a bunch of sets of brothers who played for the Habs but I can't think of another father/son combo. I just know I'll feel like an idiot when someone does get it though.

KoZed
Didn't JP Cote's father play in the NHL? Was it with the Habs or was he a Nordique? Alain Côté played all his career for the Nordiques. father-son combos: Butch Bouchard and Pierre Bouchard Boom Boom Geofrrion and Dany Geoffrion... It was that easy. In 1984, a tall and talented center from Laval was the consensual #1 overall pick. His name was Mario Lemieux. The kid was so talented, he was already on the Habs' radar 3 years before that. In 1981, Montreal made a trade for a 1st rounder in 1984 in hope of landing Mario Lemieux. Eventually, the Habs ended up with the 5th overall pick and selected Petr Svoboda. The question: Who was the player the Habs traded away in 1981 for that 1984 pick? Bonus question: which was the team the Habs traded with? Super bonus question: other things were involved in the trade, what was it?
jetsniper
1) Pierre Larouche 2) Hartford 3) Hartford also got a 1984 1st round pick and a 1985 3rd round pick. Montreal also got a 1984 2nd round pick and a 1985 3rd round pick. And who the crap were the Bouchards?

Butch Bouchard was sorta the Zdeno Chara/Scott Stevens of his era. Big defenseman, freakishly strong for the time, who captained the Habs for some seasons. His son Pierre Bouchard was an enforcer in the 70's and later became a colorful, tongue-in-cheek TV analyst.

Woohoo! I'll admit though, I only knew the Hartford and 1st round pick parts. I had to check a source to get the rest. I also found out there that Montreal traded for the pick they used on Patty. Didn't know that. Never heard of the guy either (and can't remember his name right now) Anyway...What song is played after every Colorado Avalanche home victory? Should be an easy one if you've seen atleast one Avs home game in the past...5 or 6 years.
