dark_faerie87
Denver Post describes Av's pending cap trouble in 2006-07 Ouch. And I though Sakic was being a nice guy by only asking for 5.75...
jetsniper
Yeah, I read that this morning. Can't really blame anyone for the bonuses since those contracts were signed in 2001 (although I would've gone the Bruins route and have as many contracts end before the CBA runs out as possible). Should be interesting to see what Gigeure does, I'm almost wondering if Blake will come back.

"I make all things NEW" How is a new CBA that's suppose to solve problems and create a healthy financial situation helping here? Why weren't the bonuses rolled back as well? Couldn't the NHL just look the other way on this nonsense Gary the goof Edited June 28, 2006 by ATHLÉTIQUE.CANADIEN
jetsniper
Yeah, you've got a point. Rollback all bonuses or on a larger scale, make them void. *shrugs* Just have to work with what we're given I guess.
Athlétique.Canadien
It's still garbage. Imagine if small market clubs had attempted to stay competitive by signing cheap but having paid bonuses to keep marquee players? Where's the small market going with that constraint? Nowhere fast! I thought the new CBA was suppose to create fairness. This is crap crap crap! :puke: So was the officiating in the playoffs. There's so many easy simple solutions to dumb calls. If the puck goes over the glass, why not make it a "designated penalty"? If Markov shoots it over the glass he's allowed to kill the penalty. Then, the penalized team is allowed to put in another player. Does anyone in here think that the lone brain cell of the league could concieve this idea or any of yours that might be good too? Nothing has changed! NHL= Edited June 29, 2006 by ATHLÉTIQUE.CANADIEN
