Psycing
GAHHH. My favorite Habs player... gone. This is a sad day. Zednik just didn't show up last season though, so it's a good move I suppose. Hmm, just checking out Johnson now, he's a C/RW with a right shot. Very interesting. I wonder if the Habs will play him as a center? It could push Ribs to the wing? Very interesting indeed. I guess Gainey felt the team needed another forward with a R-shot.

KoZed
Zednik to Washington in return of Mike Johnson from Phoenix? 3-way deal with a missing piece?! 12 - C/RW Mike Johnson Age: 31 Date of birth: October 3, 1974 Place of Birth: Scarborough, Ont., Canada Country: CAN HT: 6-2 WT: 201 Shoots/Catches: R Salary: $1,672,000 NHL Seasons: 8 Signed by Toronto in 1997. Now I have to change my user name. this is the deal and how it went down..... Zednik to Washington ( for his second stint with the team ) for a 2007 3rd round draft pick Johnson to Montreal for Montreals' 4th round pick in 2007. There is no third part unless you are counting the teams involved. Anybody know a good "stich" man so I can change the name and number on my Zednik jersey to Kovalev??? Sir_Boagalott
w00t w00t Happy Happy Day!! I used to like Zed, but IMO he needed to go. Now there is room for 1 of the prospects to play regularily, and now the Habs have a guy that can play with Bonk, and have that line produce more offensivley. :hlogo:
brboo
ok so Zednik goes to washinton Johnson comes here. we send a fourth round pick to phoenix and get a 3rd round from washington.
Theberge43
It's actually Zednik to WSH for a 3rd pick and a 4th pick tp PHO for Johnson. Two seperate trades.

And its the Caps' 3rd; which should be good. Nice move Gainey!

Well, at least Montreal got a better pick out of it all? Mike Johnson looks good, really same as Zednik minus the strength. Zednik has never been the same after the McLaren hit though. Since then he's always pulled the same trick, going around the back of the net with one hand on his stick controlling the puck while the rest of his body worked on pushing away the defenders. But couldn't we have gotten more then a pick for zednik although I also figure Johnson is worth more then a fourth rounder
Drivefor25
So true! Since the cheap shot heard round montreal Zed has been scared to cut into the middle. Heres hoping Zed and Ovy make a mean 1-2 punch!
Psycing
Johnson, a right winger of 6 feet 2 inches, 201 pounds, disputed 560 matches in the LNH with Maple Leafs of Toronto, Lightning de Tampa Bay and the Coyotes. It adds up 116 goals and 223 master keys for a total of 339 points, 267 minutes of punishments and a differential more/less than +32. It knew its best season in 2002-2003 with the Coyotes, piling up 63 points, including 23 goals, in 82 meetings. Gotta love translation sites. FuRy
I'm surprised that Phoenix only asked a 4th round pick for him. He seems to have good stats but since he did play in Phoenix, I've rarely seen him play.

Trizzak
I know nothing of Johnson really, but it seems this was a sideways move that costs less and moves us up in the next draft. Shrewd.
