kaos
Don Cherry now says he now cheers for the Habs after their signing of Kirk Muller as an assistant coach. He cheers for them right after Boston and Toronto. Says Kirk Mullers dad is a huge Leafs fan, but when Muller told him he was going to Montreal, he dad said " Well if your going to win a cup you can't go to a better place!" cfposi
Screw the Ontario hockey media...we don't need them or their support. It will make it all the sweeter when we win the cup before any of the Ontario teams...AGAIN! I live in Ottawa now (Kingston for 4 years b4 that) and I honestly think the sports media here are a bunch of friggin idiots. Just once I wish they would call a game based on stats and observations instead of what the fans want to hear. I am NOT french (though I speak it when I have to), but I find the RDS crew to be FAR superior when calling games and much more even handed in their reporting. The same goes for the CJAD crew when I listen to the habs games on the radio. GO HABS GO, SCREW THE DON AND ALL HIS CRONIES!!

Oleg Petrov
I remember when Captain Kirk wore 11 for the Habs, and Cherry was fairly Habs-friendly back then, believe it or not, especially when Muller could at all be referred to. I think it had to do with the fact that the Leafs were pretty invisible back then, still stumbling out of the Ballard dark ages, and Cherry couldn't even pretend to think that they were a decent team. In '93, I remember Cherry making a big deal during the cup run about how great the Habs were because they were the only NHL team without a European on their regular roster - so his support of the Habs wasn't the kind of cheering you liked to hear anyway.
