puck7x
Projected Canadiens Lineup Bulis - Koivu - Ryder Zednik - Ribeiro - Dagenais Sundstrom - Juneau - Ward Begin - Perreault/Kilger - Langdon Markov - Brisebois Bouillon - Quintal Rivet - Komisarek Theodore Garon Scratched: Kilger/Perreault , Beauchemin , Dackell (knee) , Souray (knee) <hr> Big game for the habs tonight , need to play together as a team and make up for the loss of Souray. Team needs to come together right now. Markov needs to step up ... This is his chance to be the #1 LD again... :ghg:
simonus
are we sure that beauchemin isn't playing? i was really looking forward to seeing him get some ice time
puck7x
Beauchemin is not playing... Habs scored! 1-0 Habs ... Koivu got the goal , he was on a 2 on 1 with Bulis , he tried to pass to Bulis , didnt work , puck got back to Koivu , he scored... Theodore with the assist. Habs playing pretty good... D Pairings are... Bouillon - Brisebois Markov - Quintal Rivet - Komisarek ARGH!!! Why does CJ have so much faith in Bouillon? Put Markov with Brisebois! puck7x
2-0 Habs after 1st period... Markov scored on a 5 on 3 , from Koivu and Ribeiro. 2 points for Koivu now , 4 shots (I think) for Markov in the period.... Shots 9-6 for habs. simonus
the habs seem to be doing a good job of coping without souray around... good offensive and defensive output by the defensive core.
puck7x
2-1 , Tampa scored... They got a PP after a Begin boarding penalty on St Louis... Then St Louis scores the goal ... Scored it from a pretty crappy angle too , Theodore could of had it (but thats easy for me to say) ... Hope the habs keep the pressure on the Lightning despite giving up the goal. :ghg:
puck7x
2-2 now... St Louis with another bad angle goal , deflected off Quintal and in. Man I hate playing St Louis , the guy always has great games against the Habs... Such a little pain in the ass he is. Habs need to come out of this game with at least a point. We're being badly outplayed by Tampa since we went up 2-0.
jl.roberts
Just got in and was hoping for a lead! 2-1, sweet. Sounds like Markov has had a good game. Hope for the best in the third! Go :hlogo: Go!
puck7x
Bulis scores! Partial break down left side , blasts a shot past Grahame... 3-2 Habs... wooo
jl.roberts
We get into penalty trouble and Richards makes us pay. 3-3 now, 6:20 left in the third. BTW, Koivu and Markov take the assists on Bulis' goal, giving Saku three points and Markov two. * God, Lecavalier makes it 4-3 now. Less than 5 minutes to get a goal. puck7x
Habs lose 5-3 ... Absolutely pitiful 3rd period by the habs, they got thoroughly outplayed , outhustled and outworked by the Lightning , sure Tampa had a few PP's in the period , but they still dominated 5 on 5 play... Habs have no excuse for playing as badly as they did. None. So we've lost 2 in a row , and we're facing Ottawa next... oh yeah , and we dont have Souray. Just great.... Go Habs? That was a horrible third period. This looked like the 3rd period Habs from last year. The 2nd wasn't much better, either, IMO.
Quebecois
Horrible, horrible third period. Begin had two penalties that cost us goals tonight i believe, bad game from Ribs too. It can't get much worse than what we saw in the third. Ottawa is going to be tough to beat, but we need to do something on saturday because another effort like what we had in the third tonight is unacceptable. DJ_Laszlo
4-23 in shots in favor for the Ligthning?! WTF is happening with this team, and why the hell are they always collapsing in the last period of game?? :wall::wall:
ch_nl
Some bad third periods now... Seems like the Habs needs to visit the gym. But at least we are still in the play-off run. And I think we will make it. In about two weeks we will know... 1. If there will be any addition the the team. Like bringing in a Ryan Smyth type. 2. The Souray situation. 3. If we are still in the race. If things goes our way, we will make it and add some power up front.
RJP
It annoys me to have to conclude this but, last night's debacle from the half-way point of the game to the end, must rest on Julien's shoulders. Time and time again, this coach has shown that while fundamentally and technically sound, he cannot think outside of the box. A coach MUST be able to change strategies WITHIN a game, assess the flow, pace and direction of the other team and adjust to it. It was embarrassing how lost and beaten we looked out there, how Tampa manhandled us physically, and worse, how they knew we were easy pickings with phyiscal play. Julien just does not have the goods (ignoring for a minutes that he obviously does not have the players either!) to grab this team by the jugular and shake them up when they play like they did in the 3rd, its just happened too many times. In the Florida game, we weren't getting penetration in close, so why continue to frig around on the peripheral, shoot the damn puck at every opportunity, maybe a lucky bounce goes our way. But no, just continue wasting precious time trying the same plays. Gainey needs to recognize what's going on here and he'd better be pissed off to hell!! Kingjaarl
I totally agree. Just like they were saying on RDS last night... Tortorella took inventory at the end of the first and switched the game plan to better defend the Habs forecheck. They clogged the neutral zone, and from there on in... the Habs looked lost. How can you explain taking a lead into the third, then getting outshot 22-4? This is shades of two years ago... is it Julien's insistence on sticking with 'the system'? Or is it that we lack character? ... sparkplug Steve Begin took two stupid penalties which led to two Tampa goals... we're playing waaaaay undiciplined, ugly hockey... -MD:wall:
