  1. If we are getting real, he is 38 on two bad legs and very slow.
  2. What he has to work with in the system nhl ready players Lw-0 ready Rw-0 ready C-0 ready G-0 ready maybe a year or two away mccarron, rose, Hudon, juulsen 2+ years away nygren, audette, Lernout, reway Lindgren not that much to work with.
  3. The problem is he thinks he is still in his prime and is worth 6mil. He needs to realize that he is 38 and in today's NHL that means your worth 2.5mil at best.
  4. Well you got to look at it like pens taking on phils contract I think if I remember correctly leafs eat 20% of it. Which then made it easier to take Phil. So a weber trade would be along the same lines.
  5. If your looking at trade a 34-35 year old weber and wondering how you go about doing it, you would have to eat a lot of that contract. Or take on a similar contract to off set each other. But if you do that would you not just keep him? Then take on a similar contract?
  6. Sorry but I think MB only play here to get a puck moving D and a center is that at this point to trade his only 2 trade able chips that he has left and that is Galchenyuk and Gallagher. if he packages both along with picks he could get what he is looking for. So don't be surprised if by the time the season starts both of them are gone.
  7. I look more on the side of the fact we have no young guns waiting to make the jump full time to the nhl. To me it wouldn't matter as much if we don't sign any ufa's or we let our ageing ufa's walk and not over pay them if we had the younger guys ready to make the jump. But we don't. case in point who is our puck moving D for the power play units? Petry is the only one. Plek is is our highest paid forward at 6mil. When I look at the future of this team we are in trouble. There is no upside when it comes to looking at the youth and prospects of this team.
  8. Bergevin better wrap his key players up in bubble wrap and hope they don't get hurt all year. Because if they do look out its going to be a long year.
  9. So after July 1st we have gone back two years the line up will probably look like this pacoiretty-Galchenyuk-drouin lehkonen-plekanec-Gallagher Byron-danault-shaw martinsen-Hudson-mccarron ?-weber alzner-petry schlemko-benn price wow we are in trouble if the injury bug hits us and guys are out for a long period of time. Forgot about hemsky. Don't know why we signed him. Would of just saved the roster spot and is if by some miracle a young guy steps up.
  10. I would be ok if we had young guys ready to make the jump full time to the nhl. So we don't have to over speed on ageing ufa. But we don't. That's the part that gets me mad.
  11. In his 5 years here he hasn't developed one single player that has made it to the nhl full time. As a result he has backed himself into a corner. He can't make a trade because he has no nhl ready prospects to trade. If this team runs into injury trouble we are done. i hate to say it but his only option now is Galchenyuk and Gallagher. So don't be surprised if these 2 get traded.
  12. Does Mac have a plan or does he just write names on the wall and throw darts at them???
  13. Can the team afford to resign max when his contract is up? Or does the team trade him and make drouin the new captain and face of the habs?
  14. Why do we need a development camp for?? We don't develop players away.
  15. Look at it this way alzner replaces emelin not markov
  16. Would you give rad 5 years or if he doesn't take the 4 years at 6mil we offered him let him walk??
  17. This free agent year I think he has backed himself into a corner. If he doesn't resign markov and radu, then he will need to fill a lot of holes on the team with no prospects probably developed ready to make the jump or that he can trade. He will have to over pay in a weak class of ufas
  18. If radulov is too much he will trade his rights by the end of the night and resign galchenyuk.
  19. Just wondering is Gomez off our books yet?
  20. We are comparing them as to how they were built. Trade away young players and draft picks for gritty older players. Not caring about drafting and developing players. Plus when they're careers are done price, Weber, will be in the hall of fame.
  21. I am thinking more along the line of over paying for a has been player.
  22. Why do I have this feeling of being scared of what Marc could do going into July 1st?
  23. Toronto during that time in the 90's I believe made the final four 4 times just could never get into the finals. In the 8 years only missed the playoffs once. The leafs in the 80's were very bad and no direction. The leafs in the 90's traded away the young guys and there draft picks because they always believed they were 1 player away. Just like the habs now. That is why people keep comparing the 2 teams.
  24. Lol you were faster then me with your post. Was thinking along the same lines.
