A few years ago it looked like they might be falling out of the top-6 hockey countries, but they may have a golden generation of prospects on their hands. The Finnish forward (Saarela?) wound up guiding the Russian defender into the goalie which took Georgiyev well out of position for Kapanen to score. That would have been an interesting one if they could have challenged. Quick ending to that game, I was hoping OT would have lasted at least a little while longer. Oh well.
