  1. I believe if Columbus goes 4-0 (all regulation wins) in their last 4 games then they would have 1 more regulation win than us, assuming the Habs don't get any more regulation wins. Right now they have 26 with the win tonight, we have 29.
  2. Yes, technically it's not over but pretty darn close to being over. I guess we can look at Kapanen and Demidov as our trade deadline acquisitions.
  3. It's really unfortunate that the decisions of a man south of the border have found their way into so many discussions and have affected so many things. It's a very emotional issue. I still play competitive slo pitch. We have an excellent senior team, great bunch of guys that have been together for years. Every year we go down to St. George Utah to play in the World Senior Games, wonderful event, you end up playing against ex major leaguers. Best week of the year for me. The decision on whether to go this year is tearing our team apart. I hate that. I hate that one man has had such a negative effect on so many things. Sorry for the off topic post, let's try and be kind to one another on this board.
  4. Vancouver scores 3 goals in the last minute to tie it and then wins it in overtime. Crazy!
  5. If Tampa beats the Leafs in regulation tomorrow night they over take them in the standings as they would have the tie breaker.
  6. It's an absolute must win game for Detroit so they look like the hungrier team.
  7. Now this has brightened my day!! Good work management! We don't need to know what went on behind the scenes to make this happen.
  8. Tampa scores 3 goals in 2 minutes and are up 3-0, you can almost stick a fork in the Rangers if they lose this one.
  9. Massive 2 points, Columbus is pretty much done, Monty gets a rest. A pretty darn good night!!
  10. Nick is awesome, can do it all. Things that are great about Nick; 1) He has shown progression every year 2) He is a 200ft. player 3) With the salary cap going up, it's looking like his contract is tremendous value 4) He is a leader and playing his best hockey at the most important time 5) He is low maintenance 6) He is tremendously durable and strong on his skates 7) His hockey IQ is among the best in the game Am I missing anything? Now if we can get a true #2C, along with Demidov coming in next year, we could really kick some butt.
  11. Yup, no one is right all the time. I think I predicted Hutson would have something like 33 points this year, happy to say I was way off. And did anyone think Washington would end with the best (or maybe 2nd best) record in the NHL this year? I don't think anyone saw that coming. And there were many, MANY on this board who thought the Habs had no chance at a playoff spot this year.
  12. Exactly how I feel. I will be cheering hard against the Leafs soon enough. LOL Hutson and Nick. WOW!!!
  13. Now 4-0 Devils, awesome. Yes I will cheer for the Leafs tonight. Big picture!!
  14. Agreed, IF he would take 1 year, that would be ideal. I don't see Hughes offering term, especially now with Evans locked up.
  15. I just don't see Dvorak taking a 1 year term, makes no sense, he has the leverage being a UFA and he will want a little more security than that. You take a 1 year term, suffer a serious injury and you are screwed. Why take that risk when you dont need to? His recent play will certainly help him land a contract somewhere with some term.
  16. Not worried about Detroit or the Islanders but today it's definitely Go Devils Go !!!
  17. That's a fair assessment. He has been responsible defensively and used a lot by St. Louis to take important draws (ie. overtime). He recent play will certainly help him on the UFA market.
  18. I think Matthews is going to win the 2017 Calder but time will tell or maybe it already has? LOL
  19. Mailloux has now played 2 full seasons in Laval and deserves a shot but will have to earn it at training camp. Not sure what term of contract it would take for Granlund? He is 33 so his last chance to make some big money. Perhaps playing beside a fellow Finn in Laine might encourage him.
