  1. I think Matthews is going to win the 2017 Calder but time will tell or maybe it already has? LOL
  2. Mailloux has now played 2 full seasons in Laval and deserves a shot but will have to earn it at training camp. Not sure what term of contract it would take for Granlund? He is 33 so his last chance to make some big money. Perhaps playing beside a fellow Finn in Laine might encourage him.
  3. I am a little surprised many think Reinbacher will be a regular next year. He has hardly played this year and is coming off a serious knee injury. Wouldn't some time in Laval be the best thing for him?
  4. Yes, I am sure Hughes won't get too excited about Dvorak's late season run. It's nice to see him playing well but where has he been the rest of the time?
  5. Not always easy being a Russian athlete as you don't want a family member accidentally falling from a 4th floor balcony for saying the wrong thing. Gretzky could have said something as free speech is allowed here. His silence was disappointing.
  6. One player I find intriguing is Cameron Schmidt. High end offensive player but small so will likely drop. Could be another Cole Caulfield? Or do we need another one? Perhaps Commandant has some thoughts on him. Thanks Also if we packaged our 2 picks together (likely both in the 14-18 range), how high could we move up? It's all about quality now.
  7. Watched the end of the Ranger game, too bad. The Habs just have to take care of business, can't take the Bruins lightly. It would be a shame to win back to back games against the defensing cup champions and then come up flat against the Bruins.
  8. Always hard to say how much more development there is in a player but he has had a good year, no doubt about that.
  9. It definitely shows development, scoring 20 goals in the AHL against men is far more impressive than scoring 34 in junior where you were one of the oldest guys.
  10. Good news, a great replacement for Pezzetta. Most certainly an upgrade.
  11. The Flames are 8 points clear of the bottom 10 and 6 points out of a playoff spot with 8 games to go. Almost perfect. Now if they could go something like 2-6 in their last 8 games they could slide a bit but I expect they will continue fighting like they have all year. I expect that pick will be 15 or 16 unless they win the lottery (about a 1.1% chance). Habs pick if they get the last playoff spot and lose in the 1st 2 rounds will be 17. Could be back to back picks.
  12. Looks like Suzuki is off to a decent start in April. LOL
  13. Two massive wins against a team that is really tough to play against. Not a tough schedule left but NO time to relax. https://www.tankathon.com/nhl/remaining_schedule_strength
  14. I think the only debate would be who is runner up. I think it has to be Hutson.
  15. I'll be the 1st to say that this doesn't guarantee anything but the Habs have an easier schedule left than the teams they are battling with for the last playoff spot. Non playoff teams can be loose and difficult to play against. NHL Remaining Schedule Strength | Tankathon
  16. Hutson is rookie of the year, how can you pick anyone over him?? Nick is so good. The future is bright.
