  1. No problem ... had to go back to be certain I had misread it ... sometimes our fingers by pass the mental edit of what we want to post
  2. Sometimes his "edge" tips him to the wrong side of the line he has to walk to be at his best
  3. Think there was just a miscommunication ... seems you accidentally typed coaches instead of refs ... hence my confusion ...
  4. Might need to be one of the veterans ... Muller's rep has always been as a "good guy" coach
  5. Flyers have three coaches from Quebec/QMJHL (Vigneault, Therrien, Lapierre)... Habs have two (Waite and Ducharme)
  6. Surprised they are dumping it along the boards, or at least so firmly along the boards ... Price is often playing it before the forecheck gets there ... hope thbey don't figuire it out
  7. I have NEVER liked the idea that a whack to the face is only two minutes if there is no blood but a tap is four minutes if there is blood ... the penalty should be based on the action not the result ... using the result just makes it a spin of the penalty wheel.
  8. Totally agree ... think the biggest question mark is in what role ...
  9. I hadn't seen Rask's statement and the interview with Sweeney (my subsequent post) and they shed a different light on things ...
  10. And you apparently are a HUGE fan ... time will tell if Mete remains a productive PP contributor
  11. Me too It is almost always the key to having a good game.
  12. So is Mete on the PP suddenly the solution? Doubt it ... the first assist was a good pass to the wide-open Tartar for his second goal ... but the other was just a neutral zone head-manning of the puck Friday was a hustle-won and well-deserved "downhill game" .... meaning that the Habs earned control of that game through their hard work, but it became a proverbial game of the ice being tilted downhill for the Habs ... almost everything went right
  13. That is neanderthal "the skirt she wore was too short so she got what was coming to her" thinking ... but hardly surprising from Edwards ... although, in fairness ... not certain there was any intent to inure or disregard for the kid's safety ... just an unfortunate play
  14. Which is why I only linked the "handedness" of QB and the Bomber as being important ... not saying movement is not integral to a good PP, it is ... but the QB will spend most of his PP TOI along the blueline and the Bomber at the blueline or down the side "opposite" of his shot ... once either of those leave their "usual" spots then all that matters is for all players positioning themselves to be able to take a good shot or make a good pass ... or screen the goalie ... but why not at least optimize one pair of players.
  15. The Habs really don't have a defenceman other than Weber and Petry who belongs on the PP IMO the leftie/righty issue is important for how the traditional QB and the Bomber interact ... a RH shot QB on the right/middle point can position themselves to pass to a RH-Bomber on the left point/sidewall while still being able to shoot or pass elsewhere without twisting his body or moving his feet to do so ... (reverse for LH shots) ... but for other players it is somewhat less so, the correct players are IMO more important than how they shoot ... Habs just are short of ideal PP guys.
  16. Maybe not as much of an issue as we might think ... may provide context for his previous post-game statements ... BTW, newborn is about 3 months old
  17. Fine seems a bit much ... but whatever descriptor one uses, Hudon has "earned" less TOI, and fewer games, each season since ... on a team short of pure offensive skill
  18. Gardiner missed 14 games and played 3rd pairing minutes ... so don't think it is a surprise ... reportedly he didn't consider Habs because of the pressure of playing in Montreal ... maybe that should have been a clue for the Canes ... hard to count on and expect much from players looking for the easy route.
  19. Don't like this one bit ... I agree he has likely lost his teammates ... but if he shows up at training camp the BBs are on the hook for $7 million next season, unless the can trade him or buy him out (cap hit of just shy of $2.67M and $2.17M for 20/21 and 21/22) ... is he likely to walk away from that money? Also, Halak is 35 yrs old and the last time he played over 40 games he had a terrible season and lost his staters job with the NYI ... would the BBs have to acquire a 35-50 game goalie to share the workload?
  20. Think he was just trying to change the script somewhat and give the Philly reporters something to ask/write about other than "the Flyers sucked"
  21. I Googled multiple combos and couldn't find anything specific ... except all sources I found spoke of the second lottery setting the first 15 picks for the first round ... and my feeble memory does recall hearing/reading that the two lotteries were for the first round only.
  22. He is the classic good offence poor defence guy ... he averages 12 goals and 35 assists ... 22 of his 51 career goals have been on the PP ... not a Weber or Petry partner, but maybe a 3rd pairing/PP guy ... but a bit pricey at $4.5 AAV for the next three years ...
  23. For some reason I've always (i.e., since he joined the Habs organization) thought Bouchard wants into Hockey Ops more than going behind the bench. Dominic Ducharme would obviously have a shot ... two mother names that have come up before are Pascal Vincent (11 yrs HC in the QMJHL, 5 years NHL assistant and 4 years as AHL HC) ... AND ... Andre Tourigny (11 yrs HC in the QMJHL, 3yrs NHL assistant and 3 yrs OHL HC)
  24. Fair enough ... didn't know ... any particular incident?
