I see that arena and I wonder to myself: there are no fans, but there are a fair number of people in the building (tv people, photogs, journalists, team support staff, arena techs, ect)....is there one concession stand up and running to feed them? It would suck to have to bring a brown bag snack along, right?

And I'll stand by 5G in 56 games being horrid. We'll never agree...whatever. Not overly important in the grand scheme of things.

Exact words were "go from playing like a complete bum", in the context of having been completely ineffecive for the better part of this season as per the earlier remarks in the thread. If you're going to quote someone, get it exactly right. Nice to see him putting it together so far tonight; been awhile since he showed that, and with Evans down it is much needed.

Whenever I see a post like this, I question whether you are talking about the KK we saw THIS season, or the previous version that was on a great upwards trajectory. The guy we saw this season added nothing in the vast majority of the games he played. I'd be thrilled if 'bubble Kotkaniemi' suddenly showed up, but it's hard to be optimistic since he's shown nothing close to that level of game all season long.

I concur. KK adds little to nothing. Caufield however is worth dressing, even if you only intend to use him on what was a god-awful powerplay in game 1, in an attempt to resurrect it.

That was nerve-wracking...glad they pulled it off. If we didn't have an absolute garbage powerplay, might have even won 'comfortably'. If that's the Price that shows up every night in this series, Leafs could be in trouble even with our difficulties scoring.

It would be nice if it only took him one game to figure that out.

Caufield being out takes my enthusiasm for this game down by a solid 50%. KK I can see sitting...he's been garbage...but how the hell do you keep a guy who actually scores out of the lineup when this team struggles to score most of the time?!?! Ducharme is an idiot.

This would explain those god-awful turnovers where he couldn't make simple plays with the puck. Makes much more sense than the speculated 'mental lapses because he was tired'

I'd only give him a one year extension if they MUST give him more rope; he should have a very short leash. Make it an easy decision to fire him if he makes even one more idiotic mistake.

His 9-year result is absolute mediocrity: a bubble team with major holes in the lineup, a head-scratcher of a top 3 draft pick looking like a miss, and 3 albatross contract on the books. How there is even a consideration of extending him boggles my mind...it's proof that our owner knows jack s**t about hockey.
