If the league won't deal with it, then Lapierre should deal with it himself the next time the Habs play the Sens. Going to the net hard...OOPS....tripped. Gee, did my forearm end up smashing Emery right in the face? C'est dommage...I was just trying to brace for impact. Total accident, just like when his stick hit my face, eh?

I was watching the game in a bar on or near Ste Catherine St not far from the Forum with a buddy of mine. After the game, we marched on the Forum with a crowd of rioters. Suddenly, someone yelled "We're going in!!!", the crowd surged forward, and right through the big windows in front of the Forum. Nothing security could do about it, as they were overwhelmed. I did a quick tour of the stands, and snagged a ticket stub that someone had dropped. We eventually managed to sneak into the corridor right outside the Canadiens dressing room, amongst their friends and family, but getting by security guys when they were busy dealing with others and then acting as if we belonged. I remember Eric Desjardins walking by grinning ear to ear and soaked in champagne...looked as happy as I've ever seen anyone look in my life. Went to school the next day very tired and a bit hung over, but I was there bright and early because I wanted to taunt all the non Habs fans.

Are you kidding me? Why hasn't Sucku Koivu been benched for his shitty play then, because Lord knows he's been far worse for most of the past 15 games than Kovalev was tonight. Sucku should have been bloody SCRATCHED from the lineup after some of his selfish lazy offensive zone penalties. This reeks of Carbonneau's ######ed logic, just like when he scratched Samsonov after he'd been working very hard and was creating chances. Carbo was a great player, but he's a LOUSY coach.

After tonight's game, I think he's a tool. Bench Kovalev when he's playing just fine? Bench Kovalev when you're down two bloody goals with plenty of time left? Carbo needs a shot in the head.

I hope this motivates Koivu.

Koivu and Ryder should spend the next game in the damn press box....call up Grabovski and dress Samsonov to replace them.

I think that hedgehog in your avatar is Carbo...he seems to be tucking his head and hoping things will work themselves out.

I'd like to see Grabovski up and Koivu in the pressbox for Saturday's game. Useless!!!

This game, Koivu needs to show up. It's long overdue. He's got to get back to being that guy who goes to the net relentlessly.

Very good point...it just doesn't make sense for free agents to chose Montreal most of the time.

He alse gets a slightly higher salary. Thus my comment that neither guy is earning his paycheck this season up to this point.

Keep in mind, some of those teams with big scorers are out of a playoff position. Individual stats can be overrated.

He's not skating as hard as I know he can...not fighting to go to the net (which is huge, as Koivu is at his best when he's playing like that), and there have been some lazy hooks in the mix too. When Kovalev is floating, he's floating...but when Koivu does it, he's lacking confidence.? Give me a break...Koivu just flat-out dogs it sometimes too.

Please note...this was not a Koivu-bashing on my part...just trying to point out how ridiculous the notion of releasing Kovalev was. For the past several weeks, Koivu has shown little to no effort/work ethic, and hasn't scored jack. Talk about double standards. I will call a spade a spade: Kovalev and Koivu BOTH need to step up their games, as both aren't playing worht their money this season.

You could put just about every knock you put on Kovalev onto Koivu. Should Bob waive him too?

He looks as bad as he did after the Olympics last year, and we can't afford to have him have his head up his ass for much longer if we hope to stay in a playoff position. I don't know about scratching him just yet, but if I were Guy, he wouldn definitely have found his ass glued to the bench for the remainder of this game.
