True. I think Caufield needs to get a little meatier before we throw him into the deep end of the pool. If he gets just a bit more deceptively solid in the way Marchand is, and is as savvy about avoiding hits (and taking them properly when he does get caught), he will have a great chance to succeed at the NHL level.

I hear you...it's hard to be optimistic and get excited anymore, given the nature of the losses lately. I need to see a spark of hope, which I am hoping to see from the team tonight because they have a goaltender that actualy makes some key saves when needed. You can see the body language of the guys when Price lets in softies lately...they can support him in the press all they want, but their reactions on the ice don't lie; there is a clear 'here we go again' slumping of posture, and their gameplay goes down a notch or two after Carey sh!ts the bed.

I agree with those saying Price needs to find his form or we are screwed, that Allen has never successfully carried a team as a starter for a prolonged stretch. However, Carey Price is so f-ing useless right now that giving Allen the bulk of the starts while Carey works out the issues between his ears is absolutely the right thing to do. Carey is so damn terrible that the only reason I'm watching the game tonight is that Allen is starting...I'm not even kidding. Had Price been given the start, I would not put myself through the aggravation of watching the game....I'd watch Colorado/Arizona instead and just keep tabs on the scoreboard.

Can't help but wonder if Julien and Muller both watched that game while drinking a few too many, and had a chuckle or two watching the collapse and the predictable Price softie (or two).

Amen. Price has always been a bit of a headcase. When you look at the stellar saves he made last night, coupled with the absolute dogsh!t softies he let in, it's clear that the problem is between his ears and not something physical. My first move, were I Ducharme, would be to give Allen the next 3 starts, and direct Carey to mandatory sessions with a sports psychologist. Enough is enough; find your focus and play consistent hockey already.

I am hoping for the return of Jesus Price too....sick and tired of watching the unfocused sieve rodeo clown Price we have been getting for the better part of this season. Let me pre-empt any potential respondents thinking about defending Price right now: among goaltenders with 5 or more starts, he's ranked 37th in Save % and 35th in GAA. He has been a straight-up bum while collecting 13% of our cap...should be wearing a mask when he goes to collect his paycheck not because of Covid, but because its robbery at his current level of performance. Time for accountability for everyone in Montreal, past accomplishments/reputation/nationality/ be damned.

You can count me in among those assigning a share of the blame to the coaching staff. Icetime does not seem to be indicative of performance for many, a week of practices seems to have done nothing to cure the special teams woes, and I have yet to see a mid-game shift in strategy that effectively countered what our opponents were doing to give us difficulties. We need more from Julien/Muller/Ducharme/Richardson as much as we need more from Tatar/Gallagher/Danault/Drouin

I'm shocked at how bad this team is playing. I'm feeling depressed at this point; it's hard to look forward to watching games this week if this is what can be expected.

The lack of finish seems to be striking again. So many grade-A chances squandered that could have offset the pk fails.
