  1. I might as well post the breakdown of the whole article: The yellow highlights are hard to read and the pink highlights are very hard to read. As you can see, the majority of the sentences in the article are considered difficult to read. Although @hockeyrealist has a valid point about the readability of the article I fully agree with @PMAC and the others that the issue could have been tactfully brought up in a less surly and non-impudent manner.
  2. Huby is somewhat relevant to the Habs because he's an elite player from Quebec and he was approaching free agency when he was traded. I've seen articles on other sites saying the Habs were lucky and dodged a bullet because Hughes likely would have been interested in him had Huby become a UFA. Regarding the article, the issue seems to be that it lacks flow and that is primarily related to the excessive use of commas. In addition, the usage of transition words might help the points in the article flow better. Moreover, I didn't notice any transition words other than thus and yet (but I might have missed some). Furthermore, it is unarguable that over half of the sentences are difficult to read:
  3. That was awesome. What a fitting ending to that game for Cole to draw such a dumb penalty and then get the winner. However, they are lucky they won. I definitely wasn't liking what I was seeing from the Habs in the majority of that OT. ex: Why did Nick shoot from 30 feet away? He did beat Reimer but not the post but still on a 4 on 3 they shouldn't be shooting from 30 feet away. They should be able to get much closer and be shooting from 15 feet out. Plus, their 3 on 3 d coverage was garbage. i.e. why in the hell were they essentially doing picks on themselves? ex: when Debrincat would cross over and change sides the Habs player covering him would skate into their linemate who was covering the other Wings player. That was crazy that happened once let alone numerous times. It was a miracle the Wings didn't score in that sequence.
  4. Did anyone see Gally nailed Seider real good in an open ice hit by the Habs blueline and sent him flying into the boards at the Habs bench moments before that play ended? That's why Seider slashed and x-checked him.
  5. Ya, Primeau might have been able to play that a bit better but he did play it well and the goal wasn't his fault because that was an incredibly accurate shot.
  6. Thanks for that info!! I had no idea but was thinking Reinbacher might have to play his 1st few games with the Rocket to be eligible for their playoffs. Either way, thats another thing I want to see is to micro manage them so that numerous of the youngsters can be in the playoffs even if its AHL. That'd be better than nothing. ex: Slaf, maybe WiFi, who else could benefit from a deep AHL playoff run?
  7. I actually fully agree with that but with the exception of him permanently being in the AHL. The Habs have quite a few guys that are waiver exempt and they be micromanaging and exploit the crap out of that. ex: bring up Mailloux for 1 month, send each sophomore dman down for 1 week and when they're down play them 25+ mins and in situations they need to work on. Obviously, if Mailloux is a complete utter failure real quick then don't go through with a full month. Plus, it could 1 week/mth bring up Mailloux.
  8. I absolutely agree with seeing the Rocket win the Calder but those prospects dont need to play the entire season there to accomplish that. In fact, that is another part of the suggestion to bring Mailloux up. i.e. someone would be sent down. I'd like to know what is the requirement to qualify to play in the Calder Cup? Is there a certain amount of AHL games played someone needs? I'm thinking for Reinbacher, and some of the Habs sophomore dmen; if they are yo-yoed up and down a few times could they qualify to play in the playoffs with the Rocket?
  9. Yep. That goal sucks but he didn't really do enough with his hand to disallow the goal. He actually wasn't even looking at the puck when he moved his hand and it deflected into the net.
  10. See my above post, Cole was way offside so Monahan's goals was called back. That call really sucked because I figured they were trying to contest the missed penalty on Monahan for knocking Seiders stick out of his hands. That is something they can't review. Unfortunately, it was an offside they were reviewing.
  11. Hilarious, what a great veteran move by Moneyhands. i.e. did anyone notice how he knocked the stick out of Seiders's hands just before he scored? Seiders stick went flying and he went after his stick behind the net which left Sean open all by himself. D'oh, Cole was way off side on that goal.
  12. Newhook is somewhat concerning too because he played 2 good games and then followed that with a lot of meh games. Its still early so no hard thoughts on him yet but so far I'm unsure what to think of him. It is almost hard to believe that Primeau is playing because so far he's looking sharp in this game for sure. That's why I want to Mailloux to play in the NHL this year. The people that say he needs to work n his d aren't wrong, but the NHL experience would be huge for him. Look at Monty back when he started, he wasnt ready, nor is Primeau, but look at them now. NHL experience is worth 2-3x AHL experience. The best example is WiFi, last year few people here said that he was NHL capable. However, if he was in the AHL he still wouldn't be NHL ready. How many people still think Arber isn't ready and shouldn't be in the NHL?
  13. Wow, I didn't like that 1 play at all because it looked recklessly dangerous. ex: Wings were in Habs end and 2 Wings players out near Habs blueline and were changing sides. For some reason the 1 Habs player pointed to Matheson to take the guy who was farther away. No clue why he did that because the Habs player that was pointing should have taken the guy he was pointing at vs Matheson. ex: "i've got the guy right here you take the guy further away that you can't get to so they'll be wide open". That didn't make any sense but luckily it didn't cost them.
  14. Yep, there was at least 2 decent looking chances on that PP that he might have scored on and he certainly looked to be more involved and in the right place at the right time. Unfortunately, the 1 time the puck didn't make it to him and the other time his shot missed the net but barely. Slaf did have 1 bad touch but it wasn't really his fault when he tried to get the puck but couldn't get it under control and it went into the neutral zone. Petry had just got out of the penalty box and the puck deflected off Slafs stick right to him. Luckily, 1 of the Habs dmen was already back or Petry might have been sprung on a breakaway.
  15. Smart pass by Newhook and nice shot Matheson. That was strange because the feed I'm watching says it isn't lagging but I was on a hockey site and noticed the Habs had scored and it took at least 10 mins before I saw the goal.
  16. I tend to think that was more on Hamrlik than the Tit bros though. Although Hamrlik is Czech he was old enough that he definitely spoke Russian (he would have been 14 when the Soviet Union collapsed). It seemed like he was the 1 that introduced them to the Russian mobsters. He was much older and likely smart enough not to get too close to them but the #### bro were young and might not have been.
  17. Also, the main thing that upset me in that game was how TB essentially played it like it was a playoff game. i.e. they came out hard and were making solid hits all game long. ex: Cole was dumped at 1 of the faceoffs - and no response. Sure Slaf was hit and Arber fought Jeannot, but fighting isn't the only response to hard hits. When the other team wants to play physical like that the Habs need to respond in kind. ex: Anderson isn't doing much point wise, but he could easily be running around being BangBus and flattening people. I would have liked to have seen him throw his big body into Kucherov or Stamkos and same with Pezzetta on Point. Furthermore, it is especially Arber that needs to step right up with doling out big bone crushing hits to the other teams top players and get the 2 for 1 effect going. ex: Arber flattens a top player on another team and possibly injures them, then their teammate comes to their defense and Arber gives them a serious beat down. Plus, if the Habs toughest guys do clean hits that injure a top player on a team in their division that team would have less points and the Habs might be able to finish higher in the standings than they do. ex: Leafs - crunch Knies and that would have a big impact on their success.
  18. Points are not the only metric to judge a hockey player by. I don't think anyone here mentioned this but I loved what I saw from Slaf in that 1 game. i.e. I laughed so hard when he was accosting and face washing that guy. I forget who they were playing and I wasn't sure who the player was but I imagine it was a Euro player that Slaf played against in Jr or Worlds etc. I definitely got the impression that he knew him and realized the guy was a pacifist and wouldn't respond. ex: "I'm much larger than you and you're not tough so you wont do anything so I'm going to yank you around and wash your face for you - you know, just because". The best part of that was from the look on Slafs face he was enjoying tormenting and bullying the smaller player. That was an interesting side of Slaf to see him behave like that.
  19. Has anyone else noticed that Petry has been a healthy scratch for numerous games? i.e. he's only played in 8 of their 13 games. It seems like the Wings are already regretting that trade and they have him another year.
  20. True, there are some I would move but I wouldn't move all of them and particularly the 1's that are most sought after by other teams. i.e. that means those players are good so why move them? The players that I'd move are somewhat considered bad contracts anyway. ex: Dvorak, Armia, Savard, and possibly Anderson (as long as his size and toughness can be replaced). For the 1st 3 players receiving hockey pucks and water bottles would be worth it because it would create room for prospects. At the moment I think it would be crazy to move Monahan or Pearson, especially when they're getting Gally to be productive again. With 3 years left on Gally's contract it's incredibly important to have him produce so I'd keep those 2 guys for that reason alone. Plus, they passed Sutter's D 1st ideology so they aren't defensive liabilities. Honestly, I understand why people want to dump Gally, but I wouldn't do that at all and I fully expect to hear "if you want loyalty get a dog" to echo from the Sutter/Babcock/Bergevin peanut gallery. However, out of all the Habs in the last 20 years Gally is the 1 that is still around and deserves to win a Cup with them. Price, Pleks, and Markvov were deserving and unfortunately that didn't work out for them but it still can for Gally and he has earned that right. Puljujärvi has previously been rumored for the Habs and he is currently a UFA so I wonder if Hughes might target him and can Marty get him going? He might be an interesting low cost addition with potential to break out.
  21. They definitely had a hot start last year, that's partially why I'm not surprised they started strong this year either. Last year their hot started ended when they got hit with a ton of injuries and this year Dach was out real quick but they still played decent for while. I totally disagree with most of what you said and especially dumping vets because your plan would lead them to not making the playoffs for another 3 years minimum. Plus, any team that would want Monahan, Pearson, or Anderson; wont give up an elite player to obtain them - only picks which: a) is a crap shoot, and b) take another 3-5 years to develop them. Like you say Nick will be 25 next year and with that plan he might win a Cup by the time he is 30. Also, I expecting Beck along with Roy to be a vital part of any Cup runs even if they are only "3rd liners". Next year or the year after the Habs might not have typical 2nd and 3rd lines and I'd even do it this year. ex: whichever line of those 2 that are hot on any given night are the "2nd line" and get those minutes. Beck and Roy are both significantly above average offensively along with defensively so they should be able to shut other teams top lines down and get 50+ pts each as "3rd liners" which is a decent amount. I'd use that same go with who's hot concept in any SO as well. In the SO games this year I somewhat questioned Marty's choice of shooters. i.e: sure, Nick and Cole are great, but if other players were on fire that night start with them in a SO.
  22. This could be bad in Edmonton - they might get hit with 10 cm of Oilers jerseys tonight: There are plenty of games still to be played but it is crazy how bad they are doing so far.
  23. Dvorak? Can't be all his fault, but he is the 1 thing that has changed. Playoffs this year are a long shot, but I believe it could be possible if they micro manage and do certain things. i.e.: increase their PP output. ex: look at TB, they're PP is 2nd - that's all they have going for them atm really. Plus, look at the other PP leaders - the top 8 are playoff teams. Cannes are 8th @ 26.7%, Habs are 14th @ 20.5%. If they can increase their PP by 25% that would be a 5% increase = 25.5% that would make a big difference in their final points. However, they need to get points in games like this 1 to have any chance at the playoffs. i.e. beat teams that are superior but are struggling when they face them, and beat all teams that are below them in the standings - like the Blues. They have played decent against good teams so maybe they can get some points from the Booins, Wings and Nucks this week. It would suck to see them lose 7 in a row.
  24. I agree with the comments about Matheson. Not sure what his issue is but I hope there is a good excuse like he's playing with an injury or something. I constantly see him making bad plays this year. ex: he was bad on Kucherov's goal. It's too bad TB scored a 5th goal and that Dvorak didn't score between the 10-5 min mark to give the Habs a chance to pull the goalie and tie it. The Habs definitely showed some mettle scoring 3 in the 3rd. That's exactly what we want to see when they are down, but it would have been cooler if the Habs had scored a few in the 2nd too.
  25. The Habs better win this game to pre-empt having 7 game losing streak. Whatever slim playoff hopes they have this year could die this week. Plus, I want to see them be resilient and able to rebound and not lose more than 3 in a row this year. Next year, I don't want to see them lose more than twice in a row, with the following year have that reduced to 1 loss in a row. If they can pull that off it would show they hate losing and that they're on the right track to building a perennial contender.
