  1. Players who come back from injury has to prove they deserve their place. Players in the line up have to prove they deserve their place. What Carbo can't say is that their all different situations. Koivu is the better centre in that team he has nothing to prove, just a little time to get in game shape. After that he wil have wingers to rack points. Price is the do or die player for that team, Carbo doesn't want him to take it easy and want to coach the rookie a little tough. Halak is very shaky out there. The comment were far more for Laraque who declare's himself ready for coming back, everyone knowing is not 100% and still take a spot. Higgins will have to get his legs moving a lot. Carbo must hate to see young inspired players go without having a Chris Higgins, adult, positive and motivated.
  2. I didn't want to create another topic so i took this call up called down to speculate on who is going down next while almost everybody's up. With the big team D'Agostini Pacioretty Chipchura Stewart Weber Next regulars to come back/ Domino effect Koivu/ Chipchura down ?? Who plays with Saku ?? Bégin No D'Ago maybe... Laraque / Stewart too bad i hope Stewart get's the two next games, for a mind making decision. Higgins / D'Agostini down until Higgins grows trade value Tanguay /Pacioretty, love his attitude but no blind pass learning to do. Weber well i dunno, let's wait for a trade for a D. But the most difficult thing to do will be to break lines to insert Koivu. My guess is D'agostini-Koivu-Andrei Kost but it would be bad to break Lang's lines, the brother show their better stuff together.
  3. I agree with Colin on his comment of the all star game being a waste of time. More so, Komisarek if not hurt, must as a bruise big as a football. His shoulder is supposed to be 100% but there are less hits shoulder to shoulder. The break on a beach somewhere would have done him good, long term. Markov is one of five players that has played each and every game. He will need a break someday or playoffs 2008 will happen again for him. Price ok, for him if he can play, he needs some timing back and facing the best shots from the best players is the best for him. Kovalev, yes he played every game but he is better when he think he's a superstar. Good for his ego.
  4. Cool that Price is back well rested near february, though he will be rusty he has some time to put his stuff back. And yes thank to Halak enough saves to get with some wins and held the fort with lacklustre performance that made the team ahead of him working harder to score and work harder to get the win. Hope he rebounds has a no rebounder.
  5. I do not care on the result of a game that 3 of the key players on both side are not there. Lucic, Kessel and Bergeron. Price, Koivu and Tanguay. This was a good character show and a chance to hate the Bruins some more with this clown in their net spinning and breakdancing, puck going throught the legs . Savard slashing Komi and crying tears when talked face to face. Ward stupid move of facing the board heads down and not expecting to be hit !! Andrei slowed down to save his sorry *ss and still got 5 minutes. I don't like to hate them i simply hate them.
  6. Even if it's tied and both team always go overtime i have a feeling that Kovy will end it before the end. He is really trigging good tonight.
  7. It would take a weak coach to be overcoached by Carbonneau. I really like the timing of his line change, his respect for every decision of the referees and most of all i really like his assistant coaches. Carbo will become a good coach when he will find the right coaches to complement his style. Right now their all the same mold, much like Tremblay chose is assistant, he chose his friends not the most competent coaches. Having the Don would very much help Carbonneau because the man has experience, his own style, he knows and has the respect of more than half of the line up who played and learned from him.
  8. Depth move by Julien Brisebois. I don't see Gainey wasting his time on transition before making a major move. Nothing wrong there, the Dogs have to be kept strong. Actually they need a lot more than that with the team best players are in and out Montreal. One good thing from the call ups. White, Wyman, Desharnais have more ice time to learn.
  9. Overrated would be paying too much for a guy that doesn't worth the $$ in the league market. I would say Tanguay is the most overrated player in this team. I would pay myself some guts for 5.5 million. Bouillon is way overpaid for what he brings, so does Dandenault. Laraque too at 1.5 million is overrated. A rookie in never overrated before three years. It took 4 year to Guy Lafleur to blossom as a star.
  10. Before saying that Max Pac is not ready give him at least 5 games. I will take anyone who dares to cut to the net. What i've said after the first i maintain even witht the points he racked that Sergei is playing like a girl, takes poor decision with and without the puck. The play that people here were blaming Kostopolos to be in Halak legs was because both Kost were off to the bench on a opponent rush. Gorges is hurt, or as a flu but he has very few bad game in a year and that was one. So why put him there with 1 minute to go ?? The fourth line was horrible all pm and just to finish it Bégin cross checked a guy and d'Agostini lobbed it off the ice with a couple minutes to go. Chipchura was playing the puck and losing it. And i am not blaming Kovy at all i think his game was good. Turnovers like ususal but he played well only if Plek could turn an opportunity in a goal would be nice. Two post at least for Kovy, nah i do not blame him. The goalie coach should be fired for doing such a poor job with a good goalie. This is not the Halak we seen two years ago. He was way better before having Melanson in his life. And don't go on how he did a good job with Price, Price is a phenomenal player he doesn't need Melanson. Just pray that Price and Koivu are back soon.
  11. 1st period summary. Good show for the first 5 minutes. A let down and a chance and then the Power Play. The first minute the depression brothers made blind passes. Second wave defense couln't get the puck in the zone as usual. Since then Montreal defense allow every shot to the net. The worst of them are Bouillon, Hammer and Gorges. On the other side the Florida D plays position and Montreal wingers stay away dumping the puck further in case someone would hit them. Three notable play. First goal Bouillon loses battle so the Panthers rush the net, Cube leaves the player blinding his goalie and goal. Second goal : Halak with no confidence stay deep in his net on his knees. Third very noticeabe play Sergei Kost in possession of the puck see a dark sweater near, dump the puck 4 feet away he was clear to shoot 25 feet from the net. A good show for the young fans. A disgrace.
  12. Looks like Carbonneau read Trizz comments. From RDS.ca Andrei Kost is thrown out of first line, will play with his brother on Lnag line. If the brothers are happy to play in Montreal could they day it to their face so it shows a bit. They both look sad like hell. MaxPac will have the ice time with Plek and Kovy. D'Agostini will play on the fourth line where he will be able to check and drive the net. Not being the only one on his line to dump and chase. The fit with Lang was awful.
  13. Just wondering(s) and there is no mention anywhere about it but... Why Marc Denis has been called up ?? I know Halak is playing tonight, is Price hurt?? He had been attacked in his crease the three games that he played. If he is hurt i am angry at Laraque and management. Did they ever had a physical test on Laraque before signing him ?? Nobody notice that he cannot stride with his skate because it hurts, it hurts because he is too heavy upper side. It hurts because he preferred his personal boxing trainor than our expert Livingston. Now it hurts because we have nobody to defend our franchise goalie and talent players. So there is 4 call ups. Chipchura is a 4th line centre and Lapierre actually plays like a third line centre. That's good. Max Pac should get a spot on the Lang line, D'Agostini is not afraid of dump and chase but nobody was following him. Max Pac can do that and he can cut to the net. Lang playing conservative behind Weber there i do not agree, two power play specialist on one team is one too many. It's either him or Sergei. Denis is a veteran capable of jumping in if Price is really hurt, but if Price is not hurt that leaves me with trade smells in the air.
  14. I dunno but Mcdo didn't impress me much yet, still to see how he will do in a close game against Canada. But from what i've seen he is not offensive enough to notice him and he is not big enough for bone crushing hits but he is good enought so we don't notice him. Kristo however as wheels, pretty impressive for his age the way he plays at this level the speed and combativity he has, good mix.
  15. Finally Plek is playing like he should, it was about time. Plus he is better in face off than before and plays his role of centerman creating room offense and defense and finds his wingers. The line could have racked more points if the refs called McCabe obstruction plays and Ballard holding sticks. Again the Lapierre line was really good, defense was great and Price made the right saves at the right time. On the darker side. When will the refs call obstruction on goalies, having Brodeur, Luongo, Dipietro and more and more on long term injuries doesn't ring a bell ?? If there is no call and Laraque cannot play the habs need someone to send a message loud and clear to opponents who attack Price. Alex Henry maybe and send O'byrne down. I watched closely Maxwell and i have seen nothing worth of mention. First game that he has a positive face-off result. I never seen a scoring opportunity coming from him at NHL level after 5 games. No points to show, no physical edge, no hits on the contrary he is an easy target for heavy hits. Ok i am a little tough on him, but his spot is not deserved from what i have seen. Sergei had a nice pass on Booth goal.
  16. This was a weird move all the way. The call up and sent down of these two was a mess. First the Dogs had to play three games and these two guy were in game shape. Second the need was for a depth winger. Laraque being the injured. If Andrei would have been hurt against Pens, Sergei would have take his place. Maxwell still being in the line up the need was for a 4th line checker grinder. And it kinda messed with the head of MaxPac that i am more concerned, hey kid we give you a call no we don't, this trip in Florida would have been great hey !! but if some forward get hurt you will may get a call if nobody from the walking wounded are in game shape.
  17. Laraque is still questionnable for tomorrow(Pittsburg). Talking of questionnable why bring up Chip and Maxpac if Maxwell is still up ?? - Maxwell is not a fourth line centre, Chip and Lapierre are. - Hamilton has two games in two nights today and tomorrow.
  18. Ouch !they need all the support they can with this line up, so i'll cheer. Go habs go. For the Sabres Roy is pretty hot right now. They need to keep him near the boards. Habs should hit, hard on checking, Sabres played last night. This line up has some grit on it, i would have prefered to see a winger like Stewart but one can hope that Maxwell will show some teeth. Sergei Kost has to show the same grit too, Komo shaked him and i hope his batteries are charged and not tilting his brain cells. Latendresse should keep the same style and play the PP in front of the net. And Halak, i hope he can catch the puck. Hold on, Carey is almost ready.
  19. Carbo need support from his GM. Kids cannot solve this mess. Whatever is needed to stop this. We all see whats ugly. Just differing on where it's most. End of comments for me until something worth it, so long.
  20. It would take a lot more fire power than Streit to make these guy on the power play produce. Streit is just another softie that make these softy guys even softier than they are.
  21. Amen. What save this team is the trap and Price. Most of the point have to come from the power play. What power play ?? This where they screw every opportunity and poor man Meszaros look like Lidsstrom and Chara together. Ugly is the word for power play. Dull play is the way they win games.
  22. Wow with Price, Koivu, Komisarek, Higgins, Dandenaullt, Laraque out with injuries the habs line up lok like a bottom of conference team, yep we look like the Laffs without the grit. On paper look at the weak side Below average in goals with Denis and Halak 3-3 2.42 Defense on paper is poor. If they were free tomorrow for the same amount nobody in the league would want Bouillon, Brisebois, O'byrne. Offense. No number 1 centre again, our better goal scorer is Lang ranked at 58th in goal scoring in the league, our leaders in point are 70th 71th in the league. Still this team will rely on kids with high potential low result, let's play the trap because the Caps are gonna destroy this team with the way they played last night with Semin, Green and Fedorov back. In Bob we trust ?? He will have to sacrifice some future of this team just tom compare with the top teams of this conference Boston are on fire, and there is talent there that is producing not just glaring. Washington with the return of all of there injured and healthy Semin, Ovechkin, Green, Backstrom can kill any team in the league. They beat Montreal with 1 regular D last game they played. Pittsburg are just behind with no Fleury,Gonchar and Whitney. The Flyers are flying again. Carter, Gagne and Richards are true superstars, not superstars of fan ballot for a all star game.
  23. It's bad for Koivu, but what a character guy, he was hurt to his d*mn foot and came back.. One good thing is that he have to rest and the only way to keep him out the ice is an injury, i really hope it's just a week. Maxwell has good hockey sense and will have a chance to test his hockey smart in the NHL.
  24. Calm down it is just a game and when you face Lecavalierm St-Louis and underestimate themit's gonna blow to your face. Defense did not shut them down and Markov had a bad game, it happens but we can say it when Markov has a bad game. Now it's how they bounce back. Price is right now the leader on the ice. We all see the weaknesses of this team, even when Higgins is out their still soft, get out some softness and bring some warriors. To me Kolzig is one, Shanahan is one and Schneider is another one.
  25. It doesn't happen often but Markov was the main reason why the habs lost last night. HE was on the ice for evey Tampa goal and he was dry in key power plays. The key power plays were the one at the end of the 1st and and the 2 power plays before the St-Louis goal in the second period. Reason i blame Markov is that he is the main man on the power to bring up the puck. Also Halak vs Kolzig...interesting because first Kolzig was a free agent last summer and was an option for Gainey. Question is who would you feel more confortable to send in a key game betwwen Halak and Kolzig if Price was hurt ??? Espacially in playoffs ?? After Kolzig show last night and the fact that his team play ahead of him has been horrible this year i have to say that stats don't tell all and there is still gas in the tank. He has been Price mentor and would bring experience and leadership.
