I just hope that Montreal isn't getting a bad reputation around the league from Russian players. The Russians surely talk amongst one another and it would be bad if Samsanov, Kovalev and Perz. were starting to scare other Russians from signing with the Habs. I know it is hard to tell what is true or not behind the scenes but it did appear to me that there was some friction between Carbo and the Russians. It would be terrible if Montreal gained the label within the Russian NHL circles as a place not to sign. I am just worried that maybe Emelin and Valentanko may be scared off about signing with the Habs because of all the nonsense that was going on over the course of this season. Having said that I really hope they both sign soon.

It will be really interesting to see how this plays out in the near future and in the longer term. I'm sure that everything will be resolved but if its not this could have implications for the Russian Olympic team at the next Winter games.

Canada's first exhibition game will be on April 24th in Tampere Finland. I wonder when they will announce more players, maybe they will wait another day or two to see which players are still in the playoffs. If the Pens end up losing on Thursday which seems pretty likely right now do you think we still the likes of Crosby/Staal at the WHC?

I was just wondering do NHL teams have "feeder" teams in Europe? It is a great way to develop players.
