You can see how successful the Blues were with Lalime--couldn't get rid of him for nothing at half price! Hindsight is 20/20 Dave. I think all of us knew that Theo wasnt perfect and that he was streaky. I dont think anyone could honestly say they predicted a meltdown of this magnitude. if the Habs arent sending Theo to a sports psychologist yet, they should be. BTW: in case you havent noticed, its almost impossible to trade highly paid veterans and get anything near market value. This is especially true if your team is struggling- its like blood in the water for a shark.

I agree. The same people--and not all on this board-- who are screaming for Theo to be traded NOW! when he is worth the proverbial bag of pucks will be the same ones bashing Bob next season for making such a bad trade when Theo bounces back to lead another team. It's a shame we cant send him to Hamilton for a conditioning stint.

I dont care what Bob does at this point. I just hope something will work. Maybe converting Ribs to the wing is the way to go... you know...showcase his two-way versatility

For both of them, I'd like to see us get a draft pick and a player. Zednick has reputation as a player who elevates his game in the playoffs and Souray is rounding into form so it might be possible, but the market is tough. There arent that many top-flight defensemen on the market and there are a lot of teams that are thin on D. Welcome to the new NHL.

Actually, it was the Devils that were referred to as " a Mickey Mouse organization" by no less a hockey icon than #99. I certainly agree with the second half of your post. But the FA market is a fickle one. Look at Chicago. They signed Acuoin and Khabibulin to big contracts in order to beat out a half-dozen other interested teams. Everyone thought that they would be improved--maybe not Cup contenders, but not terrible. What happened? Both players played well below expectations and both got hurt. Now the Hawks are stuck with two big contracts unless the players come back and play well enough to interest another team.

If that happens Ivaanans will be suspended for 15-20 games because he's a goon and Chara's a skill player. I am glad Raitis is getting another chance to see what he can do. I mean a solid effort on every shift would make him better than half the players we're putting on the ice now. I read that Bob thinks the team is mentally fragile...maybe he's trying to kick start the guys by icing a tougher, higher energy line-up. Or, he's just tired of us been run all over the rink by Philly's behemoths.
