  1. Dietz. Thrower, Lernout, Bennett and Nygren are all right side d, and realistically we can say 2 of the 5 make the jump down the road. Let the 3 young guys that will be up already get a year in. Then we can let Gilbert go and move in the first out of the next crop. That would make sense long term to me. Out of the gate I expect this. I expect it to look different after next deadline though. Markov Subban Beaulieu Gilbert Emelin Tinordi Pateryn That is going to be a hard hitting 3rd pairing. Save the money we are going to need it. Funny, Hamilton's going to have the opposite problem 4 R hand D. Ellis just got buried pretty deep in Wheeling and I understand why Nygren went home.
  2. Personally I already miss it! When is the first pre-season game? Is it on RDS? I already forget who won the 2015 cup, doesn't matter, wasn't us.
  3. Significant swap when you are at the top of the league? Really? That is PS NHL15 thinking. Not the real world . We are headed in the right direction, why turn around before we reach our goal? Two Newfies left the rock headed for Toronto, when they were finally on the 401 they realized they could save 2 hours cutting through Maine at St Steven's instead of going through Quebec so they turned around and drove back 12 hours to the boarder. Best suggestions were Habs Rules. Minor tweaking. Please don't screw this up. We are finally after too many wasted years in a position to contend for at least 5 seasons. No major moves. We are almost there.
  4. On a post note, they did let me down this year. I had them at over 120 points in my prediction. So how do we improve? We don't drop regular season games to T Bay Ottawa and Calgary. Oh yeah, and we FIND THE BACK OF THE NET!! sorry, stop shooting at the goalie. We have enough scoring chances, just have to bury them more consistently.
  5. Stay the course, we are moving in the right direction. Continue to slowly integrated youth as we move UFA players out, next year being Tinordi on D, Maybe Condon as backup, and we have at least 3 if not 5 young guys looking to move up in the front, Thomas, Andigetto, Hudon then Carr and Serbek (not looking up spelling) and I am sure there are others who I am missing who are close. We have a team that is pretty young but experienced with tons of prospects in the system. We have the best goalie in the world which believe it or not equals having the best goal scorer. We have decent goalie prospects. We are so deep on defence that it is sick. How many teams would a healthy Gonchar have been with this playoff and not seen a game? So deep Nygren sees he has no shot next year already so returns to Sweden. Depth. How do we improve from holding on to 1st place most of the season and never being more than a couple points out? Hard to say. Maybe get less critical fans?
  6. Has this ever been done in pro sports before? Talk about a minor league organization. Jeez, Fla residents only can buy tickets and no Habs Jerseys allowed? How is that allowed by the league? As a Canadian Hockey player, I would be embarrassed to play for them tonight. SteveStamkos, sorry your folks can't come tonight, lmao. They announce this before game 5, so they knew as an organization they were going to loose game 5.
  7. Chris you pessimist. 8 out of 9? We won 4 str8 last season, now they had 8, so we win 4, even. No domination. Get it? Good goalies don't find themselves staring at the ice spread eagle. He has next to zero lateral movement, has problems finding rebounds in his feet. Has a slow glove hand. He is big and covers net. My buddy Sam Moon did that for years at the other end of the rink from me. Sammy is huge, but can't move either. Still covers the net. That is all Ben Bishop is, big. Wait him out, move a little to his left and snap it home.
  8. That was the beached whale I was talking about in the game 3 thread. Nice to see Bishop showing his true colours. Big slow whale, keep him trying to go lateral.
  9. No! We have a team that should be up 3-1 by the way they played. Bad bounces and a fluky whale in nets. Can't blame management for that.
  10. Not today, they cancelled the press conference.
  11. Agreed, give 11 the C. It's a good number for a captain!
  12. If we come back and win in 7 we win the cup. It is that simple in my eyes. If the team can figure this out there is no stopping them. Go Habs Go. I am not ready to shave yet!
  13. Key to winning tonight, very simple. Put the @&^% puck in the @*^ net and not into the beached whale in front of the @*^ net! Score early, score often and score short handed. Then the series has changed direction.
  14. NOTHINGS OVER! NOTHINGS OVER! THEY DREW FIRST BLOOD, THAT'S ALL GO HABS GO!!!!!!
  15. You must not remember the 60's Habs30/31. Fergy was tough as nails but he would not be running a goalie like Prust has been doing. He wouldn't have survived. In those days that type of play got a stick broken over your bare skull and then the shaft placed somewhere that made skating tough. Leave that BS to the Flyers/Bruins. Not needed. I like tough hockey, I am pro fighting, but as an old goalie I believe running the goalie is a cowardly act. Beating Bishop is easy. Traffic in front, which he sees over. Keep the puck on the ice and make it hard for him to find it in his feet. Jam it in. You can't put it through his chest! Now can someone please take control of this team?
  16. Ok, let's not talk about the last game. Let's not talk about the running of the Tampa goalie BS we engaged in. Instead let's talk about what it is going to take to get this team to the next round. We need a leader. We need someone to step up and grab ownership of the responsibility. The answer is not running the goalie. As Subban said earlier in the playoffs, "That is not what Jean Beliveau would do" We need a leader who will lead this team with dignity and class. Who will it be? Is there someone in this crop of players that has that quality in them? I sure hope so, because if someone doesn't become the captain and lead this team we are out in 4. Just saying....
  17. Hey Don, screw SS. Max Pac and our whole offence for that matter are due to break out and Bishop's numbers vs Montreal are due for a correction as are the tbay team stats vs Montreal due for an adjustment. They are way out of sync with reality and the cosmos balances these things. Tampa wins the seasons series, but we win the playoff round. That balances things out. Habs in 4
  18. Gryba said it was their series to lose? What a joke from a boarder line NHLer on a farce of a team that only got invited to the dance because Boston couldn't make it this year. Please send these AHLers back to where the belong tonight. As April Wine said, "Enough is Enough".
  19. I would like to congratulate the Sens for their run to make the playoffs and the spirited competition they supplied. Enjoy your summer Ottawa, we are moving on now. I called this one in 5, and here we are. Time to move on to T Bay.
  20. The fry guys are half done. Everyone knows the Hamburgler always was caught by the end of the ad. All the Hens fans can do now is Grimace and watch.
  21. You guys do realize who was in nets for 2 of those 3 losses don't you? Price is in for all 5 games. allowing the Sens one win with Anderson in game 5 back home for 5 and it's done Mtl 5 TB 5 Rags 6 Isles 6 Blues 6 Preds 7 Ducks 5 Flames 7
  22. He has no concussion, the visor is smoke and daggers to keep up the show. Well played. If he had a concussion, there is no way he would be skating now. Even in Atom hockey you have to be cleared of any symptoms before you skate. Think before you start joining in on the spreading of a nasty rumour like this one. It was created by the Toronto media and and spread by fear mongering Habs fans. Nobody involved has mentioned the c word.
  23. I stand by my first diagnosis. No head injury or he would not have flown with the team. He hurt his butt. He is fine. He is rested and ready to go. I don't have a clue where the concussion news came from. It was never mentioned by the team. Just the media. He landed butt first, said ouch, saw the board coming, shoulder hit, helmet rides up a little, head hits board. Most of the impact was already absorbed by his arse. He needed to be helped off by a trainer holding his pants. Been there myself, that isn't a head injury unless his head is up his arse. There is also a good chance his neck was tweaked. Either way he should be fine to go.
  24. TML should have had a promotional day. TML Golf Day. Could have given out TML golf visors or something.
