  1. Here we go again! Boucher has a good season and know we must do anything possible to sign him in order to make him our next coach. Haven't we yet learned from our past that hiring rookie coaches such as Vignealt, Therrien, Carbonneau was the wrong direction. Therefor Bob Gainey finally addresses the problem by hiring a mature and experienced coach in Jacque Martin who also led the habs to an unbelievable playoff run and here we go again talking about replacing a sound coach for the rookie Boucher.
  2. I cannot excuse Bob Gainey for getting nothing in return for players such as souray, streit, komisarek......Any reasonable gm would have gotten something in return for these players such as picks or some good prospects at the very least but getting nothing in return is unacceptable and poor management decisions. Now we are faced with the same situation with Pleks and guess what rumors have it that he might sign with the toronto maple laughs (Pierre McGuire).
  3. I always knew for certain that Plek's would not stay in montreal so I cannot comprehend why management held on to him this long and failed to trade him when they had the chance. When Plek's signs elsewhere I would be very interested to see what reply they will give to us. If Koivu wouldn't mind coming back here I would sign him for sure. As for Price we can all do him a big favor and package him with a few other players ( AK'S ) and trade him to a western conference team. Maybe we can go and get Holmstrom and also Franzen which would be 2 good additions and last but not least we must keep Moore and Pyatt.
  4. BGL has sucked in Bob Gainey for a stupid 3 year contract. Anybody can agree that BGL was way over paid. Aside from the money BGL has brought absolutely nothing to the table. He could not fight or intimidate, he could not pass or shoot the puck, he couldn't even check! I couldn't imagine how Bob Gainey felt for acquiring such a looser and waisting all the precious money. My personal advice to BGL is next time you make another pretty commercial please wear your skirt and panties it would suit you better.
  5. Why has the habs management brought in S.K 74 ? Could it be that A.K 46 is missing him ? The whole thing stinks to me and I'm really fed up with the play of A.K 46, he seems to doing almost everything wrong. He has had enough years to mature and be a power forward. The 2 Kost. bros. do not need more nhl coaching rather they need psychological counciling of the fourth kind.
  6. Thanks for the correction regarding Cammy. :hlogo:
  7. I have heard it all over the media that because Washington and Pittsburgh have been iliminated from the playoffs that it will be very bad for the T.V ratings as well as hockey popularity in the U.S.A. It's no wonder that a canadian team has not won the stanley cup for the last 17 years and counting. We proud canadians have bent backwords to promote hockey in the U.S.A and the 6 canadian teams also make up for half of the total revenues of the NHL. The 6 canadian teams must also compensate U.S market teams in order to keep digging them out of the hole year after year while the U.S keeps trying to put us in the hole or 6 feet under if you know what I mean. Therefor it makes me curious even suspicious that maybe Bob Gainey signed lot's of american players ( Gomez,Gionta,Cammalleri...) so that the league and americans will not mind so much if we a canadian team wins the stanley cup.
  8. The Habs always put players in roles which they are not qualified for. They have asked Latendresse to charge the net but it's not what he does well. As for Pouliot they keep changing his line up and ask him to play a defencive role which is not Pouliot hockey. It's no wonder thay our players look or seem dead at times.
  9. Can anybody explain what's wrong with Pouliot? He hasn't scored in over 30 games and counting. As for LaPierre we must give him a significant raise unlike the raise that Bob Gainey gave him and Latendresse last year. One last note P.K Subban has logged 29 minutes of play against pittsburgh so I hope that our staff and management does not ruin him as they've done with Pouliot. :hlogo:
  10. Does anyone know anything in regards to rumors that Iginla will likely be traded and that the likely destination would be montreal ? Now that would ge a great line Iginla- cammellari-Moen !
  11. I agree with you that regardless if Price still wants to play here or not we must be careful with how the situatuion is handled and if we need to trade him at least to get the best return possible rather than a bag of pucks
  12. It's certain that there are no certainties with hockey players or with anything else for that matter. That's why I would hate to be in the shoes of the decision makers. However decisions have to be made and risks have to be taken. I would find it hard to be believe that Price would want to continue his career with montreal after all the abuse and pressure recieved from these fans or gutless bastards as Mr. Bob Gainey put it. This constant unfair treatment towards Price has only frustrated him and also affected his confidence on a grand scale. I remember the match played against carolina where Price had a less than average performance and was ridiculed and bood that entire game. After that game I also remember Cam Ward addressing the situation with the media and trying to support Price and restore his confidence. shame on these gutless bastards because we may very much loose Price or perhaps have already lost him to another city and organization that will embrace him and support him.
  13. The reason why it makes sense to trade Price and keep Halak is simply because Halak in my view has proven to be a #1 goalie and would stay in montreal if given a reasonable contract. As for Price I agree with you that we have invested plenty of time and money and that he may be around the corner and have a break out season next year. However let us consider that we traded Halak and kept Price and next year Price plays less than average? I can be 100% sure that the fans in montreal would boo him just as they already have on numerous occasions before, therefore what good would that do for Price and his confidence which has already taken a beating. Therefore as much as I respect Price and his future it would be better to trade for him and also free up some money and give the young kid a city where he can develope without all this pressure.
  14. Mr.Pierre Gautier will have a lot of work to do over the summer with our defenceman. Firstly we must try to trade Hamrlik and if we can't then we buy him out. We musn't resign Paul Mara and definitely try to trade away Spacek. Now that will save us a whole lot of salary. Now with all that money we've saved we can sign Plekanec and Halak and still acquire a decent and reliable defenceman. As for Price let's all do him a big favor and trade him to a team preferably in the western conference. I believe that Price has good trading value and who knows maybe we can get great and promising defenceman in return!!!!! As for the Kostytsyn bros. it's very simple let's trade their ass for a good second or first line forward. If Pierre Gautier can do all of that and still remains under the salary cap he's got to be a genius!!!!!!
  15. Is it just me or do you guys agree that game 2 of Pitt. vs. Mtl was boring and dull. Both teams had no spark in fact most players seemed dazed and sloppy with the puck. It may be the type of game that Jacque Martin is forcing Pittsburg to play and if it is Jacque is a genius. :hlogo:
  16. Interesting that you mentioned the new golaie equipment regulations which are to be applied soon. This bring to mind why Jose Theodore got traded to the Avalanche. If you recall at that same period of time as the new rules were to be applied regarding the reduction of size with the goalie pad and gloves Jose Theodore was traded. Too coincidental? I don't think so. I guess Gainey and his staff were no longer confident that Theodore with smaller equipment would be sufficient. However on this note I don't believe that Halak is in the same catagory as Theodore in fact I think that Halak will be one of the great ones and the risk to gamble for him is worth every penny.
  17. That's exactly what will happen, washington or some other team will offer a good contract and we will be stuck with Price who is a good goalie but needs more years to mature and develope. The same could be said for Plekanec who might not be willing to resign with montreal. This is clearly a problem that Gainey and his staff could have avoided.
  18. Let' all look at this possible scenario where Halak is traded and Price has a poor or under achieving performance the following season I could see all them gutless bastards booing him off the ice. Now what will that do for his confidence seeing that it Price has already suffered a loss of confidence. In my opinion Halak must be resigned because he has earned that title and has won the heart and confidence of our fans. For the grace of God let Price go and develope his game and confidence with a club that has less pressure and is more appreciated from it's fan base. I admire Price but in all fainess he would mature quicker and better somewhere in the western conference.
  19. Iginla to montreal would be the ideal choice for the habs simply because of his grit and character that would set the tone for the rest of our players. Imagine reunting Iginla on the same line with Cammelleri. Plus Iginla would be a great captain for the next 3 years. Can anyone tell me why we couldn't trade Halak or Price to chicago for Sharp? I'm so tired regarding the NHL and the failing U.S market. Why doesn't the NHL just do what's right and include 3 more canadian teams which would be Quebec,Winnepeg and Hamilton! About the salary cap, it should be raised to $60,000,000 so teams could have the breathing room to deal, trade, acquire players and lot's more because at the current cap it's very hard for teams to move and very boring for us the fans. :hlogo:
  20. Unfortunately Halak will be traded and if the habs can't trade Hamrlik they will buy out his contract to get more cap space. Regarding Pleks I think it's true that the habs are offering him around 5 million plus a season but I also believe that if another team offers him the same money or even a bit less that he will leave montreal. As for Laps I don't think that he really enjoys playing here any longer and may want to join his friend latandrese which is typical of most francaphone players these days. Please trade away spaced out Spacek along with Mara in order to free up more cash. NOW DURING THE OFF SEASON MONTREAL SHOULD TRADE OR DO ANYTHING TO ACQUIRE IGINLA FROM THE CALGARY FLAMES. NOW WOULD'T IGINLA AND CAMMELERI LOOK FINE PLAYING TOGETHER ON THE SAME LINE?
  21. You know what really bothers me with this habs team is that they have no identity. For example they can take 15 sots in one period and the next period take 3 or 4 shots on goal, another example when the lead the game by a goal or 2 then they seem to change into a defence team and let the opposition gain momentum on them. makes no sense at all. We better get a point against carolina tonight because if we have to get it from playing toronto we can all say "hasta la vista baby!"
  22. We are going to be ridiculed in the playoffs for such reasons; Poor and slow defence that can't even get the puck out of their zone-We have an offence that is small and cannot gel together no matter how often we keep changing the line ups and our offence is the worst of the legue five on five and lastly our offence cannot even score goals. On a good note our goaltending is decent and we still have to see if Halak will stand on his head for the platoffs. Now after we get ridiculed if we make the playoffs we should try to trade for Iginla as well as trading LaPierre or A. Kostytsin and Hamrlik and Mara or even Halak and get some sizable and character players if they should be available.
  23. I'm basing my assupmtion based on last years agreement which needed to go to arbitration. Besides my nose tells me that Plekanec doesn't enjoy playing here and would easily move. Time will tell!
  24. Bottom line is that Mr.Bob gainey gas failed to address many of the issues and holes on the team. Bob failed to sign key players or get a good trade value (Souray-Streight-Ribiero-Koivu and the list goes on and on...). Now it also seems that we are also going to lose Plekanec in return for nothing and we can all keep thanking our previous G-M along with his staff. This club is still in a big mess with plenty of holes to fill let me also mention that I also think that Price will leave us as well. What is there to be greatful about Bob gainey? :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:
  25. It's only obvious that Thomas Plekanec will test the free agent market this summer which means that we will need to pay close to $6,000,000 per season (probably more) with a 5 or 6 year contract. Personaly I'm pretty sure that many teams will bid for his services and offer him a delightful and generous contract, therefore I don't feel optimistic about our chances of keeping Plekanec with the habs. We can all thank Mr. Bob gainey and his staff for it!!!!
