  1. Well, sucks for him that Matheson & Guhle are both healthy and Hutson likley suiting up in Hab jersey this season for a token game or three?, hope Mailloux & Trudeau get a game at least before end of season. It just looks so awkward for lefties to play right side; too many negatives; backhand giving and taking cross ice passs & backhand at opposing blueline along the boards... some can manage 'OK' but Guhle/Harris are obviously better on normal side.
  2. Lost again yesterday, playoff hopes must be pretty slim.
  3. 2023-24 HabsWorld Prospect Rankings – HabsWorld.net Some risers, with Smilanic being biggest faller (from Chiarot trade, didnt pan out). Mesar 2a vs Guindon 0pts Beck/Xhekaj 0pts Kapanen 1a
  4. In Northern BC that used to be similar, no longer it seems. Another match-up that Habs 'should' lose, so another come back win would be fun.
  5. Nice comeback win and to see Struble back out there, too back Kovavevic had to sit. Caufield 6 shots at least and game finish by the Captain. Awesome back check by Slafkovski to not take a penalty. Lots of positives, fun game. 10 Thoughts: Habs Win OT Thriller – HabsWorld.net
  6. And just way too early to tell much, Primeau's numbers were slightly better and now we are hoping he will become a capable NHL back-up, but is great to see Fowler 26-5-1 and hope he finishes season strong. Fowler
  7. I call BS on this! Bit short-sighted isnt it. Most of roster has lots of personal 'stuff' to play for or to work on. I hope is a high scoring and competitive game that ends in 3-on-3 OT... just cause i really like the 3-on-3.
  8. Dont get too excited, Primeau had similar NCAA numbers and we all know goalies are an odd bunch. I still remember Craig Button going all GaGa over Zach Fucale; who played all of 4 NHL games.
  9. On paper, Habs are outmatched again, Nashville hanging onto wildcard spot and are on a 8 game winning streak.
  10. Bit on Euro kids and Bogdan's play in his KHL playoff game 2OT loss. Euro Habs Prospects: Filip Eriksson “a smart pick by Montreal” (habseyesontheprize.com) "Bogdan was part of the build-up to the first goal, and he got a secondary assist on the second. He was on the ice for the late equalizer, but wasn’t at all to blame for the goal. However, he was turned inside out by Vasily Glotov for the overtime winner. There are mitigating factors though, he had played over 37-and-a-half minutes when the goal happened, second only to Alexander Nikishin of SKA among all skaters on the ice. Still, it wasn’t Connor McDavid putting on the afterburners. Again it was his skating that caused a problem. He extended too far out on his backhand side and couldn’t accelerate in order to recover his position." Vinzenz Rohrer talks about his season and future - Habs Eyes on the Prize
  11. Kids ranked around 4-5 arnt different enough than those at 6-9 to try hard to trade up, or to run out Pezzetta & Evans & White on the Habs 1st unit PP for the last 25 games. With Jets pick maybe bundle it with young d-man and use it to move up, if Hughes doesnt bundle it and deal away for a 2020 1st rounder like, like Chicago's 17th pick Lukas Reichel (suggested by others as a resonable Hughes target). Lukas Reichel Hockey Stats and Profile at hockeydb.com Celebrini & Lindstrom are the 2 that 'seem' a lock to go in the 1st five picks and rest are a toss up. Just not big on that 6'7" Tyler Myers-like russian d-man, or Eiserman who seems too Hoffman-like from reports.
  12. Mesar 1g 3 shots 2nd star 4/11 Beck 1g1a 3 shots 16/20 Fowler 27 save shutout. Game #2 KHL playoffs, Bogdan 1a 37:34 today (2OT game)
  13. Yes, Xhekaj has been doing great, 5 points in last 2 games. After just 25pts last season, quite a jump and think is playing more centre this year (alot more faceoffs anyways)? Ontario Hockey League Stats Player Team GP G A PTS +/- PIM Beck, Owen Saginaw 48 31 36 67 +14 14 Xhekaj, Florian Brantford 56 31 25 56 +17 68 Guindon, Cédrick Owen Sound 59 23 30 53 -20 22 Mešár, Filip Kitchener 36 17 28 45 +9 12 Sobolev, Daniil Brantford 55 5 15 20 +7 57
  14. Yes, he likely wont go 2nd due to being a winger/small'ish'/Russian, but 7th seems reasonable landing spot, where Habs sit today. If offense is what we need to add, Catton stands out in the WHL (like Parekh does in the OHL). He even has 6 short-handed goals. VS high flying PG yesterday he had 1g 6shots and will end up with 100+ pts on a pretty weak team.
  15. Yaaaa, not dead quite yet. Did Anderson get one?
  16. Xhekaj 1g2a 1 shot 5/17 Beck 1g1a early 3rd period
  17. Armia/Anderson/Caufield/Evans 3 shots each. Habs have lost 4-3 & 5-3 so far to TB this year, how similar will this one be? Armia now with 4pts in last 4 games.
  18. Fill the net! OK, now just dont have another crappy 2nd period and give the young goalie a bigger lead to work with.
  19. Because he is highly skilled Russian with puck and some of that type turn out pretty darn good. Can also read any scouting report, or watch youtube bit on him and seems pretty similar description and ranking, a top 5-10 pick.
  20. With so many good looking d-prospects, some teams will bite on a couple early, so Habs might do fine at 6th or 7th pick for a forward. Maybe a Demidov, Catton or Helenius might be fine forward options.
  21. Saginaw Spirit 4 vs. Brantford Bulldogs 3 – OT NHL Draft prospect Zayne Parekh’s 29th of the season tied the score with 5:14 remaining before his 30th was the OT winner 28 seconds into the extra frame Parekh becomes just the second draft eligible defenceman in OHL history (since 1980) to score 30 goals in a season, joining John Slaney of the Cornwall Royals (1989-90) Montreal Canadiens prospect Owen Beck scored his 30th of the season in the Spirit comeback win Fellow Canadiens draftee Florian Xhekaj also scored goal #30 on the season for Brantford 2024 Midseason Draft Rankings – Picks 1-8 – HabsWorld.net Sam Dickinson (London Knights/OHL) 12GP / 4G / 20PTS / +9 Dickinson led all CHL d-men with 20 points in February and has tallied at least a point in his last 11 contests. The 2024 NHL Draft prospect had eight multi-point performances in 12 appearances while on Feb. 7 he matched his career high with three assists in a 9-2 road win over Flint. Dickinson ranks fifth in CHL scoring among blueliners with 63 points this season. CHL Team of the Month presented by CCM: February 2024 | Canadian Hockey League
