  1. A disappointing effort ends Laval Rocket’s winning streak (habseyesontheprize.com) "Emil Heineman received a pass along the boards, and just flippantly threw it to the centre of the defensive zone, with none of his teammates around. Ryan Schmelzer was there however, and he made no mistake as he put the Comets on top with just over four minutes left to play. The Rocket never got remotely close after the tying goal, as the nonchalance and disjointed play led to the Comets burying the empty-net goal and ending Laval’s winning streak." 2. 1st game at home after road trip, i am not putting a lot of money on the Habs to win this one.
  3. Kapanen 2a 20:55 up 3-1 in series Engstrom/Eriksson 0pts but both sweep their series
  4. Caufield backchecking hard was great to see. 21:57 for Slafkovski, all the icetime cant hurt his development and confidence. https://www.habsworld.net/2024/03/10-thoughts-strong-defensive-effort-leads-to-win-in-colorado/
  5. Top Six Minutes: Joel Armia gets winner versus Colorado again (habseyesontheprize.com) Newhook may end up being a centre? Gallagher was never quick and has lost 1/2 step but still doing good work around the net, Armia is showing off his puck skills and overpowering d-men on the forecheck, 2nd line doing fine (would be better if they were the 3rd line) and gave the Aves trouble. I think Guhle was on most (all?) of time vs Mackinnon, fun test and GUhle almost got close up view of highlight backhand goal, Mackinnon is a pretty quick and strong player. Had odd feeling when Xhekaj tossed poor Lehkonen to the ice, he was a good Hab. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/montreal-canadiens-win-is-a-sign-of-progress-and-a-gift-for-coach-st-louis/
  6. 2 points no good, but solid win to finish off road trip.
  7. SH goal for Mackinnon coming right up? Or can the Habs PP finish off the victory.
  8. The big kid tossing his weight around, good for him. Newhook 9/11 on faceoffs.
  9. Slafkovski 1a. Armia with his 12th & 3 shots, he is still playing well, nice bounce back for him from Laval and would be a bonus if he can do the same next season. Newhook 6/7 on faceoffs. Poor Pezzetta just 1:32.
  10. Well... not the best start. Looked like everyone but Guhle flew the zone. Good work Captain!
  11. Florian is just 19, assume he will play 1 more year in the OHL, wont he?
  12. Well, Habs beat the Aves in Jan., wonder what odds are they will do it again. On paper, looks pretty one-sided. And that’s where Lane Hutson comes in."
  14. Lots of positives... Habs Weekly: Another Impressive Performance From Primeau – HabsWorld.net ...aside from poor Josh & Joshua for different reasons.
  15. Darn shame KK is the 14th highest scorer... on Carolina. Smug smartass Carolina owner likely not so pleased with that deal.
  16. Eriksson 0pts 14:17 in win, up 3-0 in series Engstrom 0pts 4 shots 27:53 at end of period 5. Kapanen 0pts 2 shots 18:19 9/22 in win, up 3-0 in series
  17. dlbalr was talking about Guindon, not Xhekaj
  18. 2024 NHL Draft ranking: Macklin Celebrini leads Scott Wheeler’s March top 64 prospects - The Athletic Another draft ranking, Wheeler's; (Seems he likes Eiserman more than most, i do hope some other team takes him and not the Habs)
  19. Quinn Hughes on being small offensive d-man going form NCAA to NHL. Canadiens weekly notebook: An awkward milestone, an endorsement for Lane Hutson and more - The Athletic “I figure why you’re asking, but I’m sure he’ll figure it out and he’ll be fine.” "He, of course, is Canadiens prospect Lane Hutson, a similarly undersized offensive defenceman currently completing his season at Boston University. Hutson’s name was never mentioned to Hughes, but he had no problem identifying the reason behind the question. Hutson has been compared to Hughes for years, and Hughes clearly knows it." “Right away, for the most part, I think I felt very confident. My first year couldn’t have gone better. I had a great season, and the second year, we struggled. I thought my third fourth and then this year have been really good. It’s just about building,” Hughes said. “Lane’s going to … it’s not about how good he is at 20 or 21, it’s about how good he is at 25, 26. I tell my brother Luke that, focus on one foot in front of the other, and he’s having a great year, too, but just keep grinding so that at 23, 24 you can say you’re one of the best in the league."
  20. Can Bogdan skate at NHL speed? Seems biggest questionmark. https://www.habseyesontheprize.com/bogdan-konyushkov-season-grade-montreal-canadiens-prospect-analysis-stats-development-khl-defenceman-projection-strengths-weaknesses/
  21. Ylonen with 4 shots and bit more icetime. Slaf's last few games, producing vs some good teams..
