GDT Tribute: Montreal Canadiens @ New Jersey Devils
DON replied to Commandant's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
Entertaining game. -
I am pretty sure he was asked a little while ago whether he had been asked to go for conditioning stint and again am pretty sure he denied being asked to go? But, I could be misremembering the exact q & a.
-
Tinordi was a pick I didn't like neither, not that he wouldn't develop in a huge physical d-man, but that he was long term project (more than a skilled forward would be), lacked offensive skills and was taken again for his wingspan, leadership qualities and toughness of father. But, those one dimensional type d-men can always be found in 2nd/3rd round. But still really hope he shines and is a impact physical player in his St Johns conditioning stint, but not holding my breath.

I would and think Bergevin would, but Chirelle would not go for that?
-
Possibly, but Leblanc was a likely option for months leading up to that draft. And no Krieder was not a consensus prospect higher ranked. Hind-sight is what it is. McCarron seems more a political (anti-smurf) pick to me.

Was Emelin trying to see if he could set the record for most turnovers/give-aways during one shift? And sorry to say he has been around long enough now, that his puck handling and decision making with puck is what it is...just a smidge above Crankshaft. They should put a sign on him...Do not ever pass me the puck! -

Well well well, Pelly did channel is inner-Gallagher and buried a couple and Andrighetto gets one, couple more roster moves that pay off for Therrien. Galchenyuk again held his own on faceoffs (57%), while Desharnais, Eller and Flynn get smoked by Ranger centres. Nice ice time distribution on the d, 22:27 for Petry, 21:29 Markov and Beaulieu gets 19:19. Now huge guessing game on Price injury, fingers crossed it isn't bad. Got to give Semin credit, he actually had some good shifts. -
You want Pacioretty playing on 3rd line, just to get Galchenyuk some more points? I highly doubt Pacioretty will not play with one of two best centres on the team.
-
But, other team's blogs at last year's trade deadline were saying Emelin's salary wasn't bad for what he brings. So I think he is easily tradable, if he waived his clause, but not sure Therrien-Bergevin are keen on moving him or Eller? But they seem the most logical to go if looking to add a quality winger.

It isn't just driving the net, getting hit in head...Gallagher also can bury the puck and I highly doubt Pelly can drive the net as Gallagher does neither. But hope he does his best to fill that role. -
Dumb? What do you mean? Who gets to vote for it you mean? (which I don't know)

Thanks for info dlbalr, as it seemed odd because last year had a chance to see every game (after shelling out $ for centreice) as I did when RDS was available here with every Hab game. -

Seems Mgmt guys get axed whether have long term deal or not. But still love vote of confidence by Molson. -

Gilbert simply hasn't been playing bad, but seems too bad for Pateryn who has looked very solid (and is no where as scary with puck as Emelin). -

I see game isn't being shown on centreice and is on SN east-Ontario (I assume regional blackouts will kick in), so is westcoast viewing kinda screwed for this one? -

On paper Habs are superior team. Who would of guessed they would be tied with Dallas atop team scoring rank? -
89 was good year also, just darn Lanny MacDonald and Gilmore ruined it in the end!
-
So what do you trade Eller for?
-
Cant dream of a cup winning team, why?
-
Sorry... was thinking, is he, has he been a legit Jack Adams candidate?
-
Which is fine as well, I agree an "all-star" calibre winger is needed to help Max not be the single key guy to shut down.
-
Still a fan of Larry and hope he gets 20+goals this year. Bang for buck is a GM issue not the player.
