wrist injuries seem be one pain in ass to heal properly, hopefully nothing too major? Hamilton could use Thomas's offense and will be very interesting to see how he does, or more how NHL ready he is?
-
29 blocked shots, that is impressive Diaz critics silenced for a minute; DD still snakebit but seems to be "trying".
-
Caught a bit of it and yes he said Emelin is likely first d-man to get done even though he is currently injured, but didn't hear if talks yet or much else? I hope so, you know what kind of player he is and you know the Habs want to keep him, so maybe can get a deal by signing while injured and risk he will come back 100%?
-
I wouldnt assume all d-men playing now will remain healthy and seems can never have too many d-men. But if all do stay healthy, a cheap offensive d-man who may help someone's PP, could be of value to a struggling team lacking offense (like Nash., NJ, Philly?)

Yes of course, I had thoughts of maybe Souray-Mara-Ludwig and drew a blank on 74, must of been too obvious for me maybe? I wonder how soon he will be back, just couple weeks hopefully?

Therrien and Holland: Setting up a Young Player for Failure
DON replied to Commandant's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
Holland almost got 10minutes and seems to be gaining coach's confidence. So seems coach's are being conservative, letting him gain more confidence, while still playing sheltered minutes and some PK time. Seems a good recipe to me and he still is just a temp fill-in for couple more weeks. Therrien has really surprised me so far, I have few complaints and is unlike Martin who just seemed so dour most of time. -
Just had to laugh when Murray simply freightrained some Ranger. He took a penalty for it, but he brings something the d-core has been missing since..? As long as he, like Gill, realizes his limitations and plays to his strength he can be a useful 3rd pairing guy. And yes he will get beat and look like a pylon once in a while, but that happens to all big d-men, even Pronger or a Chara (as Datsyuk did a week or so ago) look like a slug vs small quick skaters, once in a while.
-
pretty even game, 28 blocked shots likely the difference. All the kids looked good. Murray is a lumbering skater, but still a bit quicker than Gill and a big load. Lucky break for Galchenyuk and funny that he didn't hardly react when it went in. Budaj played great

Vail was -23 last year and is a +10, on good offensive pace so far and Windsor isn't doing too badly.
-
In 2010 playoffs Luongo had just about worst GAA and save% after winning gold and he didn't have to travel to Russia. So for sure would be a nice career achievement for Price and he may deserve to be there, I (selfishly I guess) don't see it as good for Price's NHL season.
-
Like i noted earlier, exactly like Pacioretty stating to media that he should be in NHL and not AHL and he didnt agree with demotion. Call it pouting or being pissed off, but i hope LL does well.

Too bad, Moan has looked good this year.
-
Morin is captain/assistant of his team? Does he show any leadership qualities? Tinordi has at all levels so far, so I would guess not same player (granted I am not real familiar with Morin).
-
U r joking about Budaj arnt you? If Price happens to get hurt, Habs will be in running for Sam Reinhart.
-
Sorry but I will go with, "oh it'll tire him out for playoffs" and same goes for Subban and all Habs players. There is no question a couple week holiday in mid-winter would be better for players health, than travelling to Russia. Not a big fan of Olympics, I will check-out some events for sure and hockey games with any Hab players/prospects playing, and pull for every Canadian, but if only had amateurs playing that would be fine by me. Millionaire pro athletes just don't seem to fit with amateurs who must work part time jobs, to supplement training costs and simply get by. Also, not sure how you can simply state Habs arnt contenders; sure, are not a cup favorite in Vegas, but I think were very similar cup odds in 86 after being dispatched by Nordiques the year before and with Oiler team looking crazy good? Still 5 or 6 months till playoffs and you think might as well toss in towel, tank season and trade for future right away I suppose?
-
If coach is playing defensive mediocre players, when down by 2 with 5minutes left is worth a word or 2, why wouldn't it be? I saw Columbus score 2 in a matter of seconds vs the Leafs on Friday with 30 seconds left in game, so with 5 minutes left any team can easily score 2. If look at standard definition; Fanatic - "person marked or motivated by an extreme, unreasoning enthusiasm, as for a cause" which team's "fanbase" isnt generally over reactive after a loss(s)? And exactly how Habs will sit in April, I aint got a clue and who really does at this juncture of season. I think with mostly full roster with no/minimal key injuries, Habs can match up well against any team on any given night.

Sniper Tarnasky scores again. Pateryn scores and has 2 point game. and sounded like Andrighetto and Aliu were 2 of better Bulldogs. overall good weekend for them.
-
Even with Holland, still need fill in for Moan don't they? Leblanc/Dumont most likely candidates eh? I didn't think Murray even has had contact in practice yet?
-
Diaz got his bell rung against glass yesterday, I think 2nd game in a row he went down hard. Almost seems inevitable (specially taking hits like Marleau's) he will be out concussed again and maybe sooner than later?
-
Always liked Boullion, but doubt will be resigned, replaced by Tinordi or Pateryn. Would love to see Emelin resigned before he hits market (I didn't realize he will be UFA), Subban needs signing and Markov will be interesting to see if resigned, will depend how he looks in 2nd half? But Diaz future may depend on progress of Beaulieu and Nygren in Hamilton, to see if he even makes past trade deadline with Habs? A cheap rental offensive d-man who can play PP, may be in demand come end of Feb... or sooner?
-
I just assumed Leblanc wouldn't play today, 3 in 4 days and likely would get limited minutes tomorrow anyways. But I hadn't thought would demote and recall that soon?
-
Dalton Thrower seems back to his 2011-2012 form and why many think he was a very solid 2nd round pick. Another 2 assists and took on a 6'6" 220lber, so he is not shy to take on those in a different weight class like Prust does; not that it is the smartest thing to do, but "grit" is a good character trait.
-
Almost seems Leblanc is like Pacioretty several years ago and having a hot stretch in Hamilton, after a bit of media story around being demoted & being written off as a 1st round bust by some? Or maybe Leblanc has just had a good 3 game stretch? And with Holland & Beaulieu being demoted I am guessing Leblanc may get call-up? He does have over 1/2 season NHL experience so may be best option at the moment?
-
Is Leblanc gonna get the call up for Monday game and I assume Pateryn draws in? Beaulieu had several shakey plays vs San Jose and Holland simply needs more icetime and they should help Bulldogs be competitive for sure.

Reway now has 7 points in last 3 games.
