  1. just saw the result, seems like Barron had a good game if you look at the scoresheet.
  2. Habs are 5th worst AAV for injured players, WWHGD (What Will Hugh-Gort Do):
  3. Engels also mentioned the same quote from MSL: <<Thursday’s loss is a harbinger of things to come, it will challenge this inexperienced group, which left its coach saying on this night that “a major lack of execution” and having “way too many passengers” proved costly">>
  4. Interesting the differnret aspects Basu and Godin bring out from this loss. Basu talsk about the differneces on developing players between teh Habs (benching Slafkovsky) and the Ducks https://theathletic.com/4007373/2022/12/16/canadiens-ducks-slafkovsky-zegras/ Godin talks about the development of the team culture on why the Habs weer referring to the game as a Must Win and how the benching of Slafkovsky was a reaction from MSL to players being passengers and not executing https://theathletic.com/4007459/2022/12/16/plutot-que-rebondir-le-canadien-a-glisse-comme-sur-le-dos-dun-canard/ Interesting.
  5. NHL bottom 10 ranked by goal differential after +/- 30 games. Ottawa has a better differential and their spot in this list is taken by the Habs who are just out of the bottom 10: I will be interesting to see how the Habs perform in the next 10 games
  6. 🤪 but the real question is: will Hugh-Gort cry when they announce Cole's contract ?
  7. another good result for the tank. MSL could not pin this one on the refs. I am glad I just caught the 3rd on radio streaming. It was an entertaining period. In th e3rd, Drouin got a point and from the post-game show they were saying he was good, can someone confirm or correct that? Caufield will make me eat my prediction of 29 goals. Good for him, special kid. Now, lets embrace the tank on the next 10 games!
  8. which Will Smith ? Chris Rock Slap Will Smith Slap GIFfrom Chris Rock Slap GIFs
  9. yes Green, if I remember correctly this summer he was hailed as an experiences AHL D expected to be a regular in Laval. that is why I assume the professional scouting on them was overly optimistic
  10. the article was referring to injuries and the type of Ds in Laval that seem to be mobile offensive-minded but not reliable on the defensive zone. It did not mention the off season or management decisions. I believe that management thought too highly of Bowey and Green
  11. Monahan and Edmundson are the two Habs on The Athletic trade board:
  12. I like how he is strong on the boards and on the puck, often wins his 1:1 battles. I have no issues with Dach the winger. I hope he can become a center in a couple of years. Good core player
  13. I don’t care much about who does wager well and who stinks. I just want one or two elite players added for the rebuild next draft
  14. I always enjoy reading what Anthony Marcotte has to say about the Rocket. He is pointing out here the lack of defensive Ds in Laval, and the great season Richard is having:
  15. yeah! you either have to add a bunch of emojis or lots of qualifiers in sentences that make them unreadable
  16. but us he a better center than Belzile would be
  17. Monahan and Edmundson are a given the others are fun to discuss if the forum is in the mood.
  18. I do not know about others, but in my view: * does not score, * is too old to be part of the rebuild * is not key enough to be kept around * other centers are coming up in a couple of years => like Poehling was traded in a package
  19. Salary cap is an issue, the trade deadline is the only time these players may be moved: Hoffman's shot a a PP specialist, may be in demand (if healthy) Drouin's controlled entries and passing IQ may be in demand Dadonov's cycling smarts and energy may be needed Evans is as valuable as Lehks was, as a PK specialist
  20. Monahan, Edmundson for sure. Out of the outcasts, IMHO, Evans, Hoffman, Drouin, Dadonov could bring a surprising return like Lehkonen did. Emphasis on surprising.
  21. gosh, holy guacamole, snap, crackle and pop! These are the times when I miss the dumpster dive trades MB used to pull to get a bottom 4C to fill-in for a while... Hugh-Gort doesn't trade the same way.
  22. Droin (if healthy), Armia, Dadonov, Hoffman, even Anderson are 3rd liners that would provide secondary offensive production if matched with the right linemates. Cap space and context are key to find the right trading partner. Matheson is not going anywhere, he was trumpeted by Hugh-Gort as a great addition and I doubt they trade him at all. Edmundson is the more likely LD to be moved, because of style of play and redundant role with the Habs (Guhle, Xhekaj)
