  1. you were not insulting, just some posters are ficklish
  2. I agree with your patient and cautious view @The Chicoutimi Cucumber . If I remember correctly, young teams perform great at the beginning of the season but fade away as the speed of the game increases as the season progresses. There is usually an inflexion point near Christmas and another around the trade deadline. I am happy after every win, but my long term expectation is a Stanley Cup and my 2022-2023 season wishes is for the best development path for each core player and the best draft selections next summer. If this team tries to contend for a playoff spot this year, it will be at the detriment of the long term goal we have been promised.
  3. Xhekaj was great on that play, he has made Pezzetta unnecessary to the success of the team. I liked how Juraj said on his interview with Marc Denis that he feels much better on the ice thanks to a guy like Xhekaj that can "kill anyone on this league"
  4. I am so glad that the Habs won and that Juraj got his first goal. I still want him to go down to Laval and dominate but only after Armia is healthy and in the lineup if he is better than Juraj. The kid is smart and will have a great future in the NHL, I just want to make sure we have the best possible version of the player. I liked how well Dach's line played. Drouin is playing well and Dach is doing great based on my expectations. With how well Guhle and Harris are playing, I am now fine with the trade that brought him here, great asset management by Hugh-Gort. I love Monahan, he complements well Suzuki and Caufield, much better than Anderson.
  5. I’ll be looking at Timmons to see if my opinion based on his stats matches his performance tonight. I had him in my shortlist of trade targets , maybe for the CGY first and a young D prospect that doesn’t seem to have a spot in the Habs future roster I also will be checking Dach’s line hoping they perform well and Monahan’s performance on the top line
  6. weird how Slafkovsky is in-town to enjoy the city but other prospects have to travel by bus and live on an AHL salary... I hope he doesn't become a spoiled entitled brat.
  7. Aren't they playing the same lineup against Arizona? I remember hearing that on the radio
  8. I agree with you. Out of the four, Armis is always hurt, Dadonov is a salary dump and will not return, Hoffman has a great shot and not much else, and Drouin has plateau’ed and will start declining soon (if not already) Out of the four, if Drouin continues to play well, he is the only I would take back until Beck, Roy, Mesar, others are ready
  9. out of the two, I would keep the younger player. also, Drouin plays better on the backcheck than Hoffman, it's not event close. But Hoffman has a great shot, I'll give him that.
  10. I am glad they won, I forgot that Petry was on the other team and didn't factor that in my prediction: I love being wrong when it means the Habs win. I love Guhle. Great draft pick by MB and TT. if Monahan stays healthy he would be a great asset to trade at the deadline. He looks really good and could make a cup contending team better. Dach had a good game, Anderson and Drouin played well with Kirby Go Habs Go, one in three is a good pace for the tank...
  11. ... and you stop loosing the puck at the offensive zone blue line
  12. same here, like Monahan with Suzuki to take strong size face-offs (lefty). Also, having a big forward in that line is needed. I also like that Droin and Anderson, who had chemistry before, are playing with Dach. A better fit than Dvorak. Druin can take some face-offs too, Third-line matchups should work better. I don't care where Dvorak plays, the conditioning repetitions on the fourth line should help him... but he has not played well. Hoffman has been floating on ice, his usual except he has not gotten may shots on goal which makes him useless. With Montembeault and Primeau dressing for this game, it should be another one in the bank for the tank Go Habs Go!
  13. i like it, you know I am a sucker for reclamation projects and I liked Mike when he played for the Habs. Also, this gets rid of Hoffman who is clogging the bottom 6 and is not useful to the kid’s development upfront
  14. you bring up KK while discussing Guhle and what maybe the future for Slafkovsky 🤔 ❔ I was thinking on how Dach made me think of the level/lack of development Kotkaniemi would have reached if he had stayed with the Habs. 🤔 ❔ then, thinking about Guhle vs Slafkovski. I do not know what Hugh-Gort may plan to do. If I believe what he they have been saying for month, it is just a big surprise to me Slafkovsky is still in Montreal: they are not walking the talk... or, to say differently, their cooking doesn't match the eating of the pudding Dach = Kotkaniemi : stalled development due to rushing to NHL ? Guhle vs Slafkovski: Slaf should be in Laval playing top minutes and developing like Guhle did
  15. Isn't it too early to criticize Hugh-Gort's decision to Keep Mesar in Laval? I want to see him play at least one game, if not a handful, regardless on how little he plays
  16. Thank you for your contribution to the "tank for Bedard" season!!! http://www.habsworld.net/2022/10/mike-matheson-out-for-two-months/
  17. I think Drouin just didn't have a healthy camp and is just not ready to start the season. I do not believe it is because he is a "bum" or "lacks heart", just going through a rough patch in his career that follows years of injuries and mental health issues. If punks like Kassian can redeem themselves (EDM for a couple of seasons) and players like Phil Kessel are still in the league ... then, there is hope for a player like Drouin. If healthy, he can play top-6 in this league
  18. my thought on reading this: "thank you fate and bad luck, you are clearly on the side of the tank"
  19. I liked how he played. He is aware of the play, his head always up. He has a quick first few steps as he was able to rush to the puck carrier when defending on the D zone. He is lost on the ice at times, but is smart and seems to adjust He is not intimidated and is taking it all in. He outplayed Dadonov, Hoffman, Pitlick... which is impressive to me because it was just his first game He will be just fine, I still would prefer he was sent down to Laval to win a cup there and develop better.
