  1. Oh look, a political joke, from Mr. Don't make jokes about political things on a hockey board, ever.
  2. Its a joke, jeez..... Also don't lecture me on what to do ever again. I didn't know you ran the site.
  3. If he isn't going to earn a contract, or even play a preseason game, might as well let him go back to his junior club.
  4. I think the Habs influence here is clear to see. The Habs wouldn't have cut Bitten over the weekend without some idea that a deal was close. They would have kept him in camp instead of sending him home.
  5. Petry is worse on LD Plus it leaves a huge hole on RD on the second pair. Who plays with Markov? Emelin? Better at LD than RD. Also that pair Markov-Emelin is slow. Pateryn? Redmond? Do we want either in a top 4 role? Beaulieu - Weber Markov - Petry still makes the most sense.
  6. David Clarkson took ten games right after he signed his big contract with Toronto.
  7. Bozon hasn't really been great since his illness either. I cheer for the kid and hope he does well, but I think he's quickly approaching bust territory. That illness sucked.
  8. San Jose could be scouting a guy like Condon, a potential backup expected to be exposed on the waiver wire. They will probably be looking at the third goalie for a lot of teams and comparing them to their current backup Aaron Dell.
  9. Matteau i send down without hesitation. Flynn would probably be my second choice.
  10. Scherbak shows flashes of real talent.. but right now that is all they are, flashes. He needs more AHL time. Lehkonen was very, very good. I liked Redmond. Yuri Alexander is slow. Daniel Audette had a good game, he might be able to go to the AHL and avoid the ECHL. Carr is a lock for a top 9 spot. Condon has the same issues with rebounds that he had last year.
  11. Trouba is getting overrated big time. Does he have potential? sure he's young and still does. But he hasn't proven as much as fans give him credit for.
  12. If he wants out of Winnipeg, what makes you think montreal is better; still going to face fan pressures and bad weather. He likely wants out of canada.
  13. I hate the trade, but I agree that the overall roster is better today than last season due to all those reasons.
  14. I love Olympic hockey, but I can't blame the owners for not wanting to shut down their season for two weeks, plus foot the bill for insurance, with the IIHF and IOC picking up none of the tab, and the IOC and IIHF raking in the money on ticket sales and tv contracts for the event. I rarely, if ever, sympathise with the NHL owners, but they have a damn good argument here. Doesn't help that the IOC is the only organization on the planet that rivals FIFA in terms of corruption running rampant (and I'm including all organizations, not just sports). That said, this tournament does not necessarily mean NHL participation in the Olympics is dead either. But yes, you are right in that it is a shot across the bow of the IIHF and IOC. I can't blindly support boycotting something just cause it is meant to screw with the IOC's stranglehold on things though. The IOC is not an organization I can get behind.
  15. Exactly the mistakes of Bergevin in the Subban trade, or the fact that Max should be the second best forward on the team instead of the first, are not things to blame Max for, or to call him garbarge and undeserving of respect. He is what he is, a multi-time 30 goal guy, who has threatened 40, and put up over 60 points in a season. He plays at both ends, even being a valuable penalty killer for us. I don't know how that equates to the hyperbole of being garbage. I get being down on the team, but come on... that's just ridiculous.
  16. With Lindgren, Fucale, McNiven, Hawkey etc... in the system and with Condon's age... I wouldn't even care if we lost him to waivers.
  17. That's a ****ing idiotic statement. Yes a guy who has a career high of 39 goals and multiple 30 goals seasons (and also is in the top 3 of players in GWG over the last three years) is garbage and not worthy of any kind of respect.
  18. I also think Condon would clear waivers. As for Redmond, I think we keep 8 D.
  19. The entire USA team played like garbage. They scored 4 goals in the tournament. - 2 were in a meaningless game - 1 was put in Canada's own net by Jonathan Toews, and was scored with 2 minutes left in a game Canada led by 3 goals. Pure garbage time. - 1 was scored by Ryan McDonagh. So no US forward, not one, scored a meaningful goal in the tournament. But sure lets pile on Max who was given 4th line minutes
  20. Waivers is NOT based on whether a player has a one-way or two-way contract.
  21. The Americans scored 2 goals in 2 games. 1 goal was in garbage time, and Toews put it in his own net. 1 goal was scored by a defenceman. Max was garbage. So were 12 other American Forwards.
