  1. I was wrong on Cole/Ryder trade. I was wrong in not liking Therrien as coach. I was wrong in thinking Gallagher needed more AHL time.
  2. I thought he was amongst the best american forwards.... they really dominated the game, but Canada won with Desrosiers who must've improved his draft stock with a great tourney. A real revelation for me in the Tourney was Saros from Finland, he looked like the best goalie in the tourney for sure. The American forward I was really disappointed in was Fasching, who sucked today. On Canada, you had to be impressed with Baptiste and especially Dauphin.
  3. Bo Horvat is next on the board. http://lastwordonsports.com/2013/04/28/bo-horvat-2013-nhl-draft-player-profile-19/
  4. Budaj played tonight? I didn't even know who was in net for Montreal. With the way we spent the last 40 minutes in the Leafs end, I didn't notice our goalie at all. Has their number? They got 15 shots, and none particularly difficult. It was one of the best defensive games we've played all year.
  5. Alexander Wennberg, a centre out of Sweden http://lastwordonsports.com/2013/04/27/alexander-wennber-2013-nhl-draft-player-profile-18/
  6. @ Price Budaj Markov - Subban Gorges - Diaz Bouillion - Tinordi Galchenyuk - Eller - Bourque Ryder - Plekanec - Gionta Pacioretty - Desharnais - Gallagher Prust - Halpern - Armstrong @ Van Reimsdyk - Bozak - Kessel Lupul - Kadri - Kulemin McClement - Grabovski - Komarov MacArthur - Coborne - Frattin Phaneuf - Gunnarson Fraser - Franson Liles - Kostka Reimer Scrivens *lineups subject to change*
  7. Brian Burke is suing the internet. http://lastwordonsports.com/2013/04/26/brian-burke-is-suing-the-internet/
  8. Price's biggest problem is that he is so sound positionally, and so big, and has such good lateral movement that he's always square to the puck and makes many difficult saves look routine. People dont see him flopping around like crazy and making miraculous, acrobatic saves, and thus they think he isn't as good as a guy who does that like Halak. Its the same syndrome I saw in Toronto. People liked Cujo more than Belfour, because he made more crazy saves, but Belfour was the better goalie.
  9. I have a feeling they will be released as a DVD set this summer.
  10. "One thing we can say about Compher is that he has a knack for elevating his game when the stakes become highest, and this is certainly a worthy attribute for any young player to have." Written last night, released at 8 am this morning, more than 6 hours before the goal.
  11. Today is a 2 for 1 special, since I didn't have one yesterday. At 16, Adam Erne of the Quebec Remparts http://lastwordonsports.com/2013/04/26/adam-erne-2013-nhl-draft-player-profile-16/ At 17 a guy I have higher than most, JT Compher of the US NTDP U18 squad http://lastwordonsports.com/2013/04/26/j-t-compher-2013-nhl-draft-player-profile-17/ I really like Compher, especially for the Habs pick. He brings exactly what we are missing, he's really gritty and an A*Hole
  12. No, if Montreal beats Toronto, and Ottawa wins their next two.... that means Ottawa beat Boston (as long as its in regulation).... that means we finish 2nd I want the division.
  13. Updated the defensive pairs Subban - Gorges Markov - Diaz Bou - Tinordi Lines remain unchanged, though its possible Dumont plays for Halpern.
  14. 934 save percentage in Price's last playoff appearance.
  15. Danny Kristo has been named to Team USA for the World Championships
  16. @ Price Budaj Subban - Gorges Markov - Diaz Bouillion - Tinordi Galchenyuk - Eller - Bourque Ryder - Plekanec - Gionta Pacioretty - Desharnais - Gallagher Prust - Halpern - Armstrong @ Ladd - Little - Wheeler Kane - Antropov - Wright Tangradi - Burmistrov - Santorelli Miettenen - Gagnon - Thorburn Meech - Byfuglien Clitsome - Hainsey Stuart - Postma Pavelec Mason *lineups subject to change*
  17. I haven't done one all season, so I got this.
  18. No but if you remove an injured player in one round, he is ineligible for the next round too. Ie... remove a player in the NLCS, he is ineligible for the rest of the NLCS and cannot be added back for the WS either.
  19. I think this is appropriate for the thread. http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/51444-Success-down-the-stretch-means-nothing-in-the-playoffs.html
  20. The NHL Wild West: 4 teams, 3 days, 2 playoff spots, and 2 games each. http://lastwordonsports.com/2013/04/25/the-nhl-wild-west-3-days-4-teams-2-playoff-spots-and-2-games-each/
  21. Looks like Tinordi will play. I just hope people have realistic expectations. A lot of people seem to be expecting this hugely physical guy, and thats not Tinordi. He's more of a better skating, Hal Gill, then he is Emelin with the hitting. He doesn't have the experience of Gill though yet, which was a major asset.
  22. Bozon 2g 2a in a 5-1 Kamloops win last night. 2-1 for Portland in the series.
  23. I agree... Drewiske is the better option. I don't mind how he played for us, and his PK work was decent.
  24. Tinordi is practicing with Kaberle. Which likely means he won't even play.
