  1. DD's size also makes him a huge liability in defensive zone coverage (5 on 5) when he plays C.
  2. ST. LOUIS CARDINALS CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD!
  3. They won't change the lineup after two straight wins. JM never changes the lineup after a win.... unless there is an injury or a key player returning from injury. But if you were a healthy scratch, you remain a healthy scratch until the team loses.
  4. Yeah, I don't know that they want Gomez right now... too much salary for Phoenix. Maybe next year though, if they stay in Phoenix since his cap hit will be greater than his actual salary in the last 2 years of the contract... It could help them reach the floor.
  5. Maybe they just wanted to be sure Max's wrist didn't swell up, or something from playing back to back?
  6. I think you could add Turris if you wanted to move AK46. I think Turris will take less than 4 million if he's traded. The 4 million was always an unrealistic demand for the purpose of being traded.
  7. Thanks for the notes. Sending Palushaj down makes since. He needs the ice time, and the team should save that cap space for later.
  8. I think Scott Gomez has actually played a lot better this year than last, but just wasn't getting points. If he comes back playing the same way I bet the points will start to come. I'd have him at Centre, because i think he's a better option there and DD should be at wing. I think that configuration is best for the team. His line would be 2a/2b with Eller, where whichever line was playing better would be the one getting more minutes.
  9. Oliver Dame Malka also got his first ever ECHL point.
  10. He was ripping it up in Junior very early in the season. But didn't seem to be able to score at the same rate later in the year. Considering he played most of the year with the shoulder injury, i think that was a huge factor in his season. Faceoffs, production, it was all effected by the injury.

  12. Gomez's game really doesn't fit on the wing. His best asset is carrying the puck through the middle of the ice in the neutral zone and then figuring out which way to cut to get the puck into the opposition zone. He should come back as the third line C, with DD moved to wing IMO. Leave Eller as your #2 C. Rotate minutes between Gomez and Eller's lines by who is playing better. Kindof a 2a and 2b arrangement.
  13. Jason Ward was so good in Hamilton in that season with the split Habs/Oilers affiliation, and the Habs were so bad, that we clung to anything we could find for hope.Rational fans realized he was a 24 year old winning AHL MVP, and was a journeyman NHLer at best. Others saw the former first round pick ripping up the AHL and thought maybe he's a late bloomer. Also the previously mentionned trade. Linden and Zubrus, for Bulis, Zednick and the 25th overall pick (Perezhogin) was one that finally injected some hope into this team.
  14. I still think we're a better team with Gomez than without him. He's still an nhl player. The only way I want Gomez gone is if he is replaced by another centre who can replace his offensive production. Sure you can do that for a lot less money than we are paying Gomez, but until you actually acquire that guy, there is no reason to jettison Gomez to leave a blunden in the lineup. I also think Desharnais is really much more suited to be a winger than a number 2 centre long term.Personally I'd play.Cam - plek - colePatch - eller - akDd - gomez - gio The third line might be small but it worked in the playoffs last year and I want to see that second line.
  15. So do we send him back down now? I think Patches has shown he'll be able to play.
  16. Game 6 might be the greatest baseball game of all time.
  17. Oh yeah, and I got the next GDT on Saturday too.... keep the streak going.
  18. 9-8 Jets final 9 goals against on 25 shots. I'm sure glad Philly solved those goaltending issues in the offseason.
  19. I think Cole was a pretty good PK guy in Carolina. Thats a way to keep him in the game on nights like this. Same reason Cammy is part of the unit.
  20. Thanks. When was he operated on? Sometime in December? or earlier? As I'm not sure if its 1 year post injury, or 1 year post surgery to expect a return. Still everyone is different and if we're talking 1 or 2 weeks difference... on a year long recovery... still sounds about right.
  21. JM almost never makes changes to a lineup that won the last game, unless forced to by injury or one of the studs is returning from injury... so I highly doubt it.
