  1. TSN.ca has it up for the English speaking fans: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=401361 I'm thinking Price has a lot to do with this...
  2. Well, lookie what I found : http://aol.sportingnews.com/nhl/story/2012-07-01/jaromir-jagr-canadiens-flyers-nhl-free-agency?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=jessespector
  3. I hated dealing Desjardins....Glad he is back in the fold..We needed depth at the goal position..
  4. Prust is an over payment, but who isn't on July 1st? I would rather have his toughness/character in the line up than let him go to TOR/BOS for the sake of paying the guy 500k less than what he was asking for.. We have 3 guys to sign to fill out our roster and 15.5M in cap space..I am fully confident Bergevin isn't finished and we will be adding a top 6 forward via trade... We need grit and character players..We got it...and regarding Armstrong? I also dislike the puke, but isn't it better having him in the right colors hitting other teams players instead of ours? The guy brings more character and a "keep your head up" mentality to this team...We sorely lacked what we got today..Bergevin did a great job, IMO..
  5. Eric Desjardins is a name I have seen thrown around...
  6. Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger The Montreal Canadiens have made their coaching decision. Its believed Michel Therrien is the man. Announcement in the next 24-48 hrs. Can't say I am happy with this decision, but I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt to Bergevin..
  7. My guess, if this is true, he becomes a pro scout...Heard rumblings of Martin Lapointe also coming on board to scout for us...Can never have enough scouts, IMO, and last year was the defining year of why..Good job PG..
  8. I don't think he was talking about just Quebecers, but I could be wrong...
  9. I can only answer this with one word..MEH
  10. If Robinson is available, we scoop him up...Plain and simple...He has the knowledge of the game that is rare to share with our young D corps...Its a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned.. ...and I would have no qualms with Carbo becoming the guy, again..Plex had his best year under him..
  11. Why would anyone in the Habs organization be talking trading anything with anyone at this point...We have our own house cleaning to take care before we even talk trade with anyone.. 1st thing's 1st...Hire a coach, get Price locked up, then PK, then get rid of Gomez and, hopefully, Kaberle.... We have so much of own laundry..Why would Bergevin be talking trade at this point?...I say what was posted is bogus...
  12. I can't remember where I read or heard it, but apparently Denis Savard will get consideration..Take it with a grain of salt, though..
  13. Meh, he knows the game on and off the ice well enough...I wanted Bergevin or Brisebois...I got one of the 2.. Great news for us going forward...The guy seems down to earth and players like playing for guys like him...
  14. We are rebuilding..Any talk of dealing Price/Subban/Pacioretty is a "no fly" zone..You have to have rocks in your head to trade away that kind of young talent...Who are we? The Leafs? Adding another blue chip prospect to this system will be the way to go...I see great things in this team in the near future..
  15. Respect that, but don't say Canadians are "stupid" because we enjoy hockey and root for the Canadian represented teams to win, either..
  16. I'm guessing it will enable the Habs to hire the best guy available and let Savard deal with all the PR crap that comes along with the job..Especially in the MTL fish bowl..
  17. ..and I wouldn't be against any of them getting the job..All are younger guys and bringing any of them in would be a great move, IMO..
  18. Classy move by O'Byrne... One of the past greats..Paving the road for the future of the NHL...Too bad a business man like Bettman got a hold of it, eh? "Butch" will be missed..RIP.. Another Ghost added to the team to add to the opposition's misery..
  19. I understand where you are coming from, but he will have Savard as a consultant..So it wouldn't be just throwing the guy to the wolves, per say... Just what was said earlier, I like the fact that they are scouring the NHL for a candidate and not just bringing in the best FRENCH speaking guy to do the job..
  20. Totally agree with this post.. Any of the picks from 2-7,8,9, or 10 will be in the same boat in terms of whether they become impact players at the NHL level..Finding a stud in the later rounds will be the more important job...If we can add a Grigorenko or a Galchenyuk AND get a Thrower or a Samuelsson, our possibility of landing an NHL impact player expands..More like throwing crap at a wall and see what sticks..lol
  21. The only "absolute blue-chip stud" is Yakupov..The rest are great prospects, but other than Nail, its a crap shoot from 2-9 or 10..the rest of the field in the top ten may or may not be the best pick where you pick them...
  22. Its surprising to me that Ryan Smyth isn't on the roster, or is he? That guy never gives up the chance to go play for the Maple Leaf... I can see if it were the All-Star game, but International hockey has been around long before the NHL and the IIHF WHC has been around for just as long so its not "useless"..It has its place and it would be classless on the team's side to not let our guys go and represent their country..
  23. Personally, I want young blood in there..I like hearing names like Robitaille and Hextall..Sure, there isn't a long list of GMs who were great NHL players, but how many actually had a shot at a job because of their inexperience.. I hear the Yzerman deal..Saying he was a great player and can't get TB into the playoffs..Well, Lawton had a lot to do with that..Yzerman is just trying to fix his mess...Give the guy some time..
