  1. yes, good fight...but I hate to burst your bubble, he rarely wins a fight. Good character guy just not a great fighter. Garth Murray fought more than this guy last year. Check out his fight re-caps in the NHL. He has only won 3 fights in 3 years, lost 7 with the rest being draws. I will give him credit...he doesn't back down from anybody as he has fought Fedoruk, Worrell etc. http://www.hockeyfights.com/players/66 Just an FYI on other guys that scrapped on the team last year...according the hockeyfights.com. Souray won all four of his matches. Rivet also went undefeated 1 win, 2 draws Murray won 1, lost 4 with 1 draw Komisarek won 1 and had a draw in the other.
  2. I like Ryder. There I said it. 30 goals is 30 goals...it doesn't matter how you get them. Name a 40-50 goal scorer that didn't get a bunch of powerplay goals. He has great hands around the net, that is all I expect from him. That being said, I also don't see any harm in addind Dumont. Having 3 very good scoring lines is always welcome. IMO I would waive a guy like Downey to make it happen.
  3. This link covers all the networks but you can search the schedule for each network...RDS is not listed but we all know that sked. http://www.nhl.com/schedules/all_sked.html http://www.nhl.com/teams/mtl/schedule.html
  4. I agree he is not what the team is lacking...today. But I believe the Habs are still looking for a Centre and a winger may have to be dealt in order for that to happen. Signing Dumont for around 2 million is a great way of adding assets to the team without giving up anything. I would gladly take an extra winger that wants to play for the team rather than making the trade and then having to fill a hole because Dumont has signed elsewhere. Also the cap doesn't come into effect until the season so being over for a few weeks doesn't hurt.
  5. FYI, here is the RDS link. I won't post any rumour links as I believe they are taboo. http://www.rds.ca/hockey/chroniques/210279.html
  6. For what it is worth...Eklund is also saying Montreal is leading the Dumont sweepstakes.
  7. If he didn't self-destruct and go on a rampage blaming his teammates during the last playoffs his stock would have been much higher. A poor attitude is what scared everyone away.
  8. Scratch them off the list of possible destinations for Aebi. http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=173662&hubname=nhl

  10. yeah, I know...I am working on it. I will give them the 'mockumentaries'. They are good at those. I will say that we do make the occasional good television show too.
  11. I try as hard as possible to avoid Canadian films...they always suck. I am a movie fanatic so I am a bit biased.
  12. Got this from another board...Check out these hockey cards of Higgins/Komisarek.
  13. I still wouldn't rule out a trade. If not Briere then another player.
  14. I am pretty sure you would have to claim a permanent residence outside of Quebec. I think a seasonal home (or employee) is taxed much less than a permanent residence in Quebec. That would then require you to pay taxes at your home residence as well. European players would have to do this anyways so it is not as big a deal to play in Montreal as opposed to another North American city. I imagine the United States also has lower taxes than Canada. I am sure they would prefer to play in their home country but Montreal as opposed to another Canadian city wouldn't be as huge a difference. So Chips...as a Canadian...it would not be to your advantage to get citizenship from another country and move back here. It would be better to be Canadian and play in your own Country...or get American citzenship and move there permanently.
  15. This one has a great breakdown...with free agency status of all players over the years. http://members.shaw.ca/cdelosreyes/
  16. I would love a Komisarek sig If it has already been done then I can live without.
  17. I joined up too. Not too familiar with it yet but it seems fun. I am a physical d-man.
  18. Not sure if this up-to-date but the NHLPA website says that Linden has a contract for 1.52 million next year. As Minny said, they may still be re-negotiating. http://www.nhlpa.com/WebStats/PlayerSearch...sp?OIDTeam=8384
  19. I think Aebi is a UFA at the end of the year...why wait til then. If Huet struggles Danis and Halak could surprise a lot of people...or could not. Halak, IMO, is a great golatender.
  20. WTF? :?- Something is really fishy here. With Danis and Halak already slated for the 2 jobs in Hamiltion...there has got to be something up to fix the logjam of goaltenders. Unless Desjardins plays in the ECHL. And then you have Lacasse and HeinoLindberg...and Price next year. I believe Michaud was let go to free agency earlier this summer. One of Aebisher, Danis or Halak have or will be traded, IMO
  21. This one isn't a joke... http://www.floridapanthers.com/
  22. only 1 million! http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=133726&hubname=
  23. They would really need to sign 23 players. They could get away with 20 but it would be a lot of transactions between the farm. Also hope for no injuries or slumping players that deserve to be benched.
  24. We understand your arguement, just don't agree with it. Nonis hasn't been that impressive to me; but I don't follow the Canucks very much. On paper, they do not look like a playoff team.
