all i know is that as a Habs fan, of courese i hated the Nordiques nothing changed when they moved to Colorado nothing changed when Roy got sent there nothing changed now that Theodore is there if there ever is 1 team i always hope has an early exit from the playoffs other than the Toronto Maples ... it's the Colorado Evas.

ya - no need for the Habs to rush him ... but ohhhhh i just can't wait for him to play with the big boys! WC is a great stepping stone for him.

Gainey's Press Conference - Friday 10:00 Am
revvvrob replied to shortcat1's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
here's Wayne Bews reply and a copy of the email i sent to the station... Rob thanks for the email, I as well was a little disappointed, we are unable to pick up PC live from the Bell Center and typically would pick up the RDS feed, but they did not cover it and RDI was using a translator. Tony Marinaro did get on the minute the conference was over. Hope we do better next time...and keep listening. Wayne Bews General Manager/General Sales Manager THE TEAM 990 Montreal www.team990.com Tel: 514.931.4910 Fax: 514.931.4079 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: XXXXXXXX Sent: Friday, May 05, 2006 10:40 AM To: Team990 Write To Us Subject: Habs press conference? I was very disappointed … surprised even to hear NOTHING about the Habs press conference on this station while the PC was going on. Instead, listening to ‘entertaining’ conversation that I can get from just about any station on the dial. Oh wait … it’s 10:37 and PJ Stock just said he’d give an update on the PC … only it’s not NEWS anymore – and not anything I can’t learn from any other station! Needless to say, I’ve learning that 990 isn’t the best station to turn to in order to get the latest info. Rob -

Loonie Hits 14 Year High Against The Dollar

na - there's no way the cdn dollar will hold forever at this rate ... so - you move down there with your canadian bucks, settle in, then - watch the us dollar strengthen again and pay off your cdn debts faster than you ever could have imagined! well ... that's my dream for personal financial freedom anyway -
welcome aboard Phil! i'll be pleased cheer on the Habs with you and debate US politics anytime! (i'd vote for George W. for a 3rd term if he was eligible and I was American! ) i hope you find your niche here and enjoy a long and pleasant stay in HW!

the issue isn't Canadian or American (why does it come down to this so often???) the issue is that they have a passion for hockey. not a passion for players or owners or money or investors or the past or the future. a passion for the game. period. i actually think Mike Gartner would be a good choice. or - what if Ken Dryden fails at become the Liberal Leader - he might be a good choice. I like the Lou Lamorello (spelling - i don't know either!) is a good idea. Bud Selig is a bad choice. Glenn Healy is another bad choice. How long until someone recommends Wayne Gretzky or Mario Lemieux?

I'm not a Ribeiro hater - but really - he's killing us. All of his passes are off-target, and when he gets the puck, you can see that the Canes send 2 players ... TWO PLAYERS on to him to force an error - to which he is very compliant. COME BACK SAKU and BG - WATCH THE TAPE and FIND A REPLACEMENT, IF NOT FOR THIS SERIES, FOR NEXT SEASON! -

Habs are back now - it's like an avalanche (can i compare the Habs to an avalanche?) ... anyways - momentum is firmly with the Habs now - they will continue to ride off of this until the series is 3-1! -

i feel good about this - Habs are playing well - they will find an additional emotional gear to win tonights game - and that will be too insurmountable a lead for Carolina to make up when the Habs have the series 3-1. i fully expect the Habs to take care of business BUT they need the 1st goal of the game - burst the Canes momentum quick - this will help the rest of the way. If the Canes score first - i still think the Habs win - but it will be a painfully long and hard-fought game then. GO HABS GO!!! -
Canada Bans Coverage Of Returning War Dead

WOW KoZed - very insightful commentary. I've was raised in Montreal - but lived in Missouri, NYC, now Toronto - my wife is from Ohio ... you're right, no system is perfect and the strengths of one system are very often the flaws in the other. My estimation of you has just risen! Wow! You know more than EHM! -
Don't worry about Mason in net or Nashville as a team - they will rise to this new challenge - they are resilent - they will win! You know, I never really have understood why they use the term 'man of the cloth' - oh well - I don't really care that much to find out.
-
i say that all the favorites will WIN. there will be NO UPSETS in the first round! some of you have come close to saying the same thing (shortcat, sakiqc) but have said SJ would beat Nashville. I say Ottawa Carolina NJ Buf Det Dal Cal Nash All teams with home-ice advantage - all will win their series. (as much as it pains me to say that i think the Habs will lose) none-the-less GO HABS GO ... PROVE ME WRONG!!!! (please)

As long as Huet manages to make 15 saves tonight - he'll pass Theodore in that category in 5 less games. -

c'mon Habs - let's win this thing - create some distance from 9th spot and go for 6th!!! GO HABS GO!!! -
yep - congrats 'sniper - nice job - you picked correctly in the categories that meant the most - Final 4 - and you're the only one with a finalist. I was pleased to be hanging around as long as i was - oh well - there's always next year! until then ... GO UCLA GO!!!
