Staal is just on some bad teams in Carolina. Hard to get motivated. Put him on a winning team like Montreal and you will see the staal of old.

I think what this team needs are more veterans that have won the cup. Right now this team has no one that's has won a cup. We need guys to come in and show these guys what it takes to win. Look at how much prices and P.Ks play improved when they Came back from the Olympics. 2 names that come to my mind that I think could help this team to the cup finals are e.staal and J.williams. If we could add these guys to our core group of guys it could make us contenders. Not sure if staal wants to leave Carolina. But I think we have the prospects and roster players to make a deal happen. Pacioretty / Staal / Gallagher Galchenyuk / Plekanec / Williams Rose / Desharnais / Pelly Prust / Mitchell / Weise I would be happy going into the season with that line up.

I wouldn't trade him. If he goes to another team he will be a 3rd line centre and put up better numbers. Plekanec should be a 3rd line centre on our team and his numbers in the playoffs will go up. Ufa Galchenyuk Plekanec Dd That's how our centre's should look like going into next year.

I think Thomas and Mitchell will get contracts don't think Flynn will get one. I think the next one to sign will be galchenyuk. Unless they tell tinordi he will get a spot on the team, I think he might be a hard one to get under contract.

Who's out there as a Rfa on teams that need to clear cap space. I know saad is a Rfa and Chicago doesn't have the cap space. Offer him around 4.5mil and I don't think they have the space to match it.

Chicago is going to have cap issues and will need to make trades I would see what we can pluck from them. Wouldn't mind sharp or saad on this team.

When it's a low end pick then it's mostly picks. But if it's a high end pick there's players and/or prospects along with picks. I think emelin plus our 1st could get us a 1st round pick any where from 14-20. Or if a team has more then 1 forst round pick and needs a d like emelin, they could trade one of there lower end picks for him.

I would try and ask for a 2nd round pick for emelin. Or offer emelin and our 1st round pick and try and move up in the draft.

Yeah but the point is that they can still be traded. Just because they have a ntc doesn't make them impassable to trade.

Gorges had a ntc also but he was traded.

Emelin will be odd man out and traded. And maybe Gilbert bought out. Don't see them trading Markov.

It's a win for the habs. When you look at how week the Ufa on d was last year and how much they were getting and teams over paying. Petry would of got alot more and we would of over paid on a Ufa to replace him. Great move by mb.

I think we need to rework our defense. The only guys that push the puck up the ice are Markov and subban. Petry started to do that and we were scoring. That's why we need to resign him. Our defense is to soft. Which is why we can't make it out of our own end. And when we get stuck in our own end that's when this team gets in trouble. Keep Markov, subban and petry. Trade the others and try to get bigger and faster on the back on.

Timmons liked him alot his draft year. That's what they basically based this on.

I would try and trade the pick. Call around and offer Eller+emelin +1pick+fucale and see if that can land us a top center or a top right winger. We have a small window here of 2 to 3 years where we can try and ad the pieces that we are missing to try and win the cup. The only prospect I wouldn't part with is scherbak.

I would look at trying to trade, eller, pap, emelin and Gilbert. Before you all cry that emelin has a ntc well so did Josh George and we traded him. If we package eller and emelin with some prospects that could land us a top 6 player that we need. We need more playmakers on this team. We have to many of the same type of 2 way gritty players. We also need a more physical d-core. We play to soft in our own zone.

Callahan has been a factor. He is a good two way player that plays a physical game. Last I looked he leads his team in hits plus plays on the Pk. They will feel his loss tonight.
