JLP
Was sort of embarrassed about my lost knowledge of Canada but feel better now that precocious BTH the student didn't know many of these places either, and Pierre not at all surprised you know them, you're probably watching "Beachcombers" reruns right now... Isn't that suppose to take place on the 'suncoast' of BC? I remember reading that somewhere. Yeah I think I've shocked the people at Malaspina already. The admissions lady was talking about the GST rebate and said not to worry about what it means. I replied saying its a Goods and Services Tax enacted by the Mulroney government in the 80's. lol Can't wait for that Canadian History class. yup yesterday I was reading up on the regions of BC and Gibsons mentioned the show that it was filmed there. dark_faerie87
I've only been to two places on that list: Cathedral Grove and Drumheller. The Grove is so badly overrated though, it's not even funny.
Pierre the Great
Didn't they want to turn the Grove into a parking lot? I read it somewhere yesterday.
dark_faerie87
Didn't they want to turn the Grove into a parking lot? I read it somewhere yesterday. Er no. They wanted to create a SAFE parking lot FOR the Grove.
Pierre the Great
ah I see. And then what was this alternative highway for Port Alberni I read somewhere.
dark_faerie87
ah I see. And then what was this alternative highway for Port Alberni I read somewhere. Put a highway through Horne Lake so that you can hit the freeway in about ten minutes and to circumvent the Hump during winter.

Pierre the Great
well this was a people poll. Because if it was an official poll Vancouver Public Library, Victoria Chinatown, Vancouver Chinatown, Lex Luthor's castle in Victoria, that castle in newfoundland, national assembly, parliament hill, legislative building in BC would most likely be on the list. Pierre the Great
Most of those really aren't that great and I wouldn't vote for them, although Craigdarroch Castle is pretty sweet. Um okay here's why they would be on the list: Hatley Castle: Classic Gothic revival, was commissioned to be the Royal Family's escape plan from the UK during the Second World War but right as they were to leave for Victoria Westminster thought it would be a blow to morale. Victoria's Chinatown: First Chinatown in Canada, second in North America after San Francisco's. Its the most intact chinatown, wasn't destroyed like Vancouver's. Vancouver's Chinatown: Second biggest Chinatown after San Francisco. Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden. First Chinese garden built outside of China. Vancouver Public Library: Colosseum re-incarnated. brilliant. Cabot Tower: Its on Signal Hill which in and of itself is historic. Built around the same time of the Hatley Castle. Modern Communications: the reception of the first wireless transatlantic signal by Guglielmo Marconi
Pierre the Great
Legislative Building- Victoria BC Is a good example of the Romanesque Revival period of the late 19th century. come on dark faerie do you like anything?
