habscout
There's a little tidbit near the bottom of Stan Fischler's column that mentioned both Selanne & Niedermayer have enrolled their children in schools in Anaheim for this fall. If either one were planning on retiring, then why would they bother? http://www.hockeyjournal.com/Article.php?ArtID=41491 Edited August 30, 2007 by Fanpuck33 Title was misleading
BTH
Niedermayer said that whether he retires or not he intends to keep his family in Anaheim and live there so that that has nothing to do with his decision.
Captain_Stealth
From what Nieds has been saying recently, he very well could be back this season. Teemu, who knows?

Selanne sure to play in Anaheim in 07-08" ???
Easy Ryder
They have both full gaz in the tank, the Ducks will ahve to free Brytzkalov and Todd Marchant and they are free cap space wise. Yeah Giggy is not playing before late november, so what who can score with Pronger,Nidermayer, Schneider, Beauchemin, etc etc at defense?? Put the fat lady in the net and wait for her to sing for another championship. She is not fast but she takes a lot of space in the net. BTH
http://ducks.nhl.com/team/app/?service=pag...rticleid=335670 Giguere underwent surgery but should be back for training camp according to this article.

Thanks for that. Obviously, he's a fairly highly-rated Fantasy starter, so this is good to know... Man, dig that blog by Burke! THAT is the sort of fan-franchise communication that a really well-marketed organization would encourage. While I can't imagine the incredibly tight-lipped Gainey running a blog, answering the occasional e-mail Q & A from fans would certainly be welcome. Who knows, a little more communication might help to soothe some of the increasingly hostile sentiment in Habsland (although only winning will truly do that). More to the point, it would be a nice gesture from a business to its fanatically loyal customers.
JMMR
If they both come back and get market value contracts the Ducks will have to shed more than Marchant and IB.
