pei#1habsfan
Phoenix has placed tough guy Josh Gratton on waviers, he would be a good pickup for us he could play for hamilton since they don't have a goon and he could also play up with the habs. Gratton is a winger 6'2 215 pounds can skate and is only25 years old. He makes 550 000 and if we got him on re - entry waviers he would cost us less than 300 000 $. he is a big upgrade over murray and would be cheaper. I know a bunch of you guys are going to say we don't need a tough guy , but you are all wrong yes we do. we can't have komisarek fighting and begin and kostopoulus aren't big enough to scare anyone off from hitting your star players dirty. PLEASE BOB GAINEY PICK UP A TOUGH GUY Edited November 14, 2007 by Fanpuck33 Title
Chris
I agree with you the Habs need atough guy. I know nothing of Gratton but if he is a heavyweight, I'm all for it.
The Iron Lung
We don't need a tough guy. We're a fast, skilled team... big numb-skulls with minimal skill-sets are for the old-NHL.
Chris
All that speed did them alot good last year. Ducks- Most fighting majors- Stanley cup
Wamsley01
I understand the deterrent. Without one, other teams just do what they want. And running Price and Huet has to stop.
les_glorieux
Let Komisarek do it...
JLP
Hmm, can fight, but Ivanans beat him up twice . . . Gratton's record.
smon
Oh Ivanans...getting knocked by Chara. Not a pretty sight. Glad to see he landed a job somewhere though.
kenadian
So if we pick him up (or any other "designated goon/fighter") what happens when he's in the box? Do we wait and say....if you guys want to fight you're going to have to wait untill he gets out of the box? It's the NHL, players need to be able to protect themselves...... and with the current salary cap most teams can't carry a slug who's only job is "protecting" our stars. Players need to bring more to the table than just fighting......
markierung
We have enough toughness, Begin, Komisarek, Bouillon, Kostopoulous and eventually Lapierre all add toughness to the team, and they can all play
