I don't concern myself with only today and tomorrow. A guy on a 1 year contract who has made his living on the 3rd/4th lines is easily replaceable if he is not doing his job. The Habs now hold the option should they so desire, as Boyd is waiver exempt now for 30 days as of today. Of course, they could always just ask O'Byrne to take a conditioning stint which, although it wouldn't help the cap any, would free up a roster spot if they do want to give someone a look.
