By the way, hasnt Pleks scored in every preseason game hes played in so far?? I hope he makes the team this year, he could really strengthen up the Habs 3rd or 4th line.

Looking forward especially to see how Kostsitsyn and Locke will do. I expect that they will go back to Hamilton but, still, there's lots of talent and potential there.

Everything is in place for a youth showcase with the third line being an all roocky one. I really like the little I have seen of Locke in Toronto...looks like to be a fun evening.

Looks good, I wil definitely be listening on cjad!

Leafs and Bruins are my favorite rivals, I guess its pretty much the same for most Habs fans, right?

Higgins - Bégin - Vandermeer could be entertaining to watch. Good energy line. Might be our 4th line at the start of the season.

Since there's a rule about pre-season and that teams have to dress 8 "NHL players", I expect we'll have a full defense (Markov, Rivet, Dandeneault, Souray, etc.)

ditto! Lats puts the body on the Bruins and gets on the scoresheet today and it will make him hard to cut, he really is the wild card on the roster right now so this is a big game for the big kid.

I'm so glad I paid $7 a month for 6 french chanels that I don't understand. Because it comes with one chanel I don't need to understand = RDS

Sweet crap I am looking forward to this game. Our roster is a little different but I like Plek and Tender on the first line. Maybe Tender has a shot at making the roster.

There are only two goaltenders remaining in the Canadiens training camp, but would-be backup Yann Danis is taking nothing for granted.

"I have to keep working and improving," said Danis, who is scheduled to play the entire game tonight when the Canadiens entertain the Boston Bruins at the Bell Centre (7:30 p.m., RDS, CJAD Radio-800). "I haven't made the team yet and I don't think I've played my best hockey."

Danis and starter Jose Theodore became the only goalies in camp yesterday when coach Claude Julien sent 2005 first-round draft choice Carey Price back to the junior Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League, while Olivier Michaud was sent to the Hamilton Bulldogs' training camp.

Julien said the Canadiens have been happy with Danis's performance in camp and it appears that he will start the season as Theodore's backup. But Danis might also be fighting for a job against a player who isn't in camp.

The second-year pro from

St. Jerome via Brown University will make at least one appearance after tonight. Those appearances are important, because if the Canadiens decide he can't do the job, they'll be taking a close look at the waiver wire for a goalie with National Hockey League experience as teams cut down.

"That's not something I'm thinking about," said Danis. "I'm focusing on my game and playing as well as I can."

Nor is Danis concerned about the fact that, even if he makes the team, he might be keeping a seat warm for Cristobal Huet, who was scheduled for backup duty before he suffered a knee injury that required surgery.

Danis isn't looking any farther than tonight's start. He has appeared in three of the Canadiens' first four exhibition games and has a 3.33 goals-against average and an .868 save percentage. Those aren't great numbers, but Danis noted that's it difficult playing in 30-minute installments.

"If you have a bad start and give up two goals, you can't make up for it if you're not on the ice," Danis said.

The Canadiens surprised most observers by selecting Price with the fifth overall pick in June's entry draft. He appeared in parts of two games and had a 2.03 goals-against average and .933 save percentage.

He said he was hoping to stick around for another day or two, but added: "My junior team needs me."

Price said he learned a lot from goaltending coach Rollie Melanson and that the tutoring will come in hand if he's selected to play for Canada's entry in the world junior championships.

The Canadiens also sent Kyle Chipchura, a first-round pick in 2004, back to junior while Michael Lambert, Andre Benoit and Jonathan Aitken will join Michaud in Hamilton. Aitken must clear waivers today.

The cuts leave the Canadiens with 32 players, nine above the NHL limit. Julien might have been able to make more cuts, but the Canadiens have four exhibition games over the next six nights and he doesn't want to extend his veterans.

There will be some players in the lineup tonight who have little chance of making the team, including junior sensation Guillaume Latendresse, but Julien noted: "The guys who are still here have earned that right."

Julien said the camp will come down to "26 guys fighting for 23 jobs, or maybe even 22."

Francis Bouillon, Ron Hainsey, and Mark Streit are battling for two defence spots, while strong performances from Alexander Perezhogin, Tomas Plekanec and Latendresse means there might be some veterans forwards feeling the heat.

The Canadiens and Bruins meet again tomorrow night in Moncton. The Canadiens' camp will move to St. Jovite on Thursday and the exhibition schedule wraps up with games against Ottawa Saturday at the Corel Centre and in Montreal on Sunday.

Didn't the Habs coaching staff say that they were going to make significant cuts prior to the away game against Boston. Tonight's "young" lineup could be a final evaluation of severals players prior to them being cut (Kosts, Locke, Ferland and even Latendresse).

Anyone else notice that second line? It's the second audition for Ribiero and Ryder's linemate for the season. Should be interesting.

I like seeing Plekanec given a shot at an offensive role, and Higgins on Begin's wing is just tasty.

This should be Ferland's last game before being cut.

ok bebe, update -- anthems now, singer seems confident, good delivery with nice trills and some creative phrasing on the Canadian. Sounds like he's already in form for the season opener.

I can't comment on the Zamboni as I'm listening on the radio.

;)
