pfloro
for someone who played some hockey during the lockout sheldon souray looks lost out there i mean mistakes upon mistakes out there , when he decides to actually take the body instead of fishing for the puck with his stick im sure he wil rebound but until then all i can say is it is ugly to watch. Mark Napier
Yeah Souray looked bad but he wasn't the only habs that looked awful.
Capt.Crunch
His play reminds me of the time he played hurt at his wrists. If you remember, before his lenghty operation, he was a at times quite ugly. I just hope he gets a bit better...
Psycing
He really is playing quite bad... something has got to be up... maybe that sore thumb is worse than we thought... or many he's got the flu?... trouble with the wife?

BTH
It's embarassing that our #1 defenceman can't play defence. His shot was still hard though. Maybe it has to do with his thumb injury. He looked alright in the preseason.

dark_faerie87
I'm glad Markov played well, I think he has the potential to be a bonifide D-man one day, hopefully soon.
HaliHab
I agree Souray looks like he's struggling big time but I'm sure he'll turn it around... Maybe playing with Dandenault, a partner he's not used to, is effecting his performance somewhat. For someone with all that speed it would be nice to see Dandenault carry the puck out of the zone a little more than Souray. Boston went out of their way to ensure Souray was the one leading the breakout and then they pressured him, unfortunately it worked great. I think there are afew things he's struggling with right now. Offensively he's not moving or creating space for his shot, granted even on the PP the passes going to him are not feathered for him to shoot one time... Several times over the first two games they tried to get him out on the PP and lost possession in the offensive zone while the point was open. Defensively he looks confused and unsure. Hopefully this is just jitters and getting back up to speed, it's not like Sourays the only one struggling to start the season... they'll pick it up for sure... Go Habs Go! ps. Can't be too negitive this early, esp. at 2-0!! On a positive note I thought Markov played alot better today and Boullion played well again too. beckham
I thought Souray was fine. Especially after they put him back with Komisarek. Those two work well together and give up nothing in their own zone. Dandenault is a defensive risk on the order of Dagenais and Ribeiro. I think they are -3 or so already, and would be worse if Michael Ryder wasn't bailing them out with singlehanded goals. Komisarek is a +3 already with just 21 minutes of playing time through 3 games. He and Markov have been the best blueliners in my estimation. [Edited on 2005/10/7 by beckham]

He stunk. Souray gave the puck away so many times that I was wondering if this was an imposter! Cannot expect every player to play perfectly every night. He will be better next game. Dandenault, is not a defensive specialist and not why they signed him. You are 100% accurate in Komisarek and Markov. Both guys are playing great and making up for bad plays by forwards. The Saint
Komisarek does look good out there. Souray has me a bit worried but there is still some adjustment time and as someone mentioned we are 2-0, so no need to get too worried with so much time to get better and more used to the current realities. I am not so sure Dandenault is as much of a risk as Dagenais and Ribeiro...he is a bit of a risk but he may still be learning a new role...the other two are serious defensive liabilities right now. How long before Claude breaks up the love?

Leafs Suck
Souray is being misused. He is not a #1 defenseman. He caught lightning in a bottle two years ago. I'd be more comfortable with Markov was the main man. The Cube is growing on me. I've been really impressed with him so far this year.
