Nothing To Do With Anything

I own Firefly. I've watched about 5 but it hasn't turned me on enough to get me to watch the rest just yet. Maybe now that it's my break, I'll finish the season ( I blieve there's only 1 season). Pretty average show, I think.

You know you've watched too much porn when...

And yeah, there's only one season (14 episodes to be exact) because it got cancelled partway through the first season due to poor marketing. But it got really popular when it was released to DVD, so they made a movie as well. But honestly, the dialogue is brilliant. I was laughing so hard last night. Besides, they even have a hook...er, I mean a "companion." ;)

I've been meaning to watch Firefly because I absolutely loved Serenity. Would I like the show if I loved the movie?

Just finished watching the entire tv series. It was effing brilliant. Haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm sure that if you liked the movie you should like the show.

:lol::rolleyes:

Either say something productive or don't say anything at all. I'll kindly ask you don't roll your eyes at my opinion. If you like GTA, good for you, so do all my friends.

Thanks, I'll definitely be sure to check out the TV series. You do the same with the movie. ;)

Oh don't worry, the tv series left me with far too many loose ends. I'll be watching that movie asap.

Those loose ends are probably the parts of the movie where I was "...what?". Haha.

Well, there really isn't much to argue about over a video game and obviously you aren't going to change your opinion, I just find it a bit outlandish to think that it belongs in a bargain bin. Love it or hate it, it definitely was a groundbreaking franchise.

I misquoted - I'm referring to GTA, not said movie.

It's a sad world we live in when a video game about being a gangster who steals cars, traffics drugs and shoots up innocent (and not quite so innocent) bystanders is considered "groundbreaking."

It was a pioneer for 3D free roaming gameplay.

And sometimes you just have to beat a hooker with a baseball bat. I think we can all agree on that.

Triz is right, it didn't start the sandbox style (Driver did) but it popularized the genre and now any sandbox-ish game is referred to as a GTA clone.

smon, you're right too, I did go over the top but that was intentional. I was just trying to get across the disdain I have for the series, I realize I'm in a large minority. The gameplay is tight but I have issues, like faerie brought up, with the way it's presented. Theres a fine line for games of this style and GTA is one that crosses to a point where I don't enjoy it, same goes for Saint's Row. They give too much fodder to idiots like Jack Thompson in his crusade against gaming. I'm not saying all games should be like Super Mario but the despicable acts in GTA just gets too..."real" for me, if that makes any sense.

Plus it makes any schmoe who plays it feel like they're a hardcore gamer and it gets annoying. Same with Halo, except I like Halo so I shouldn't really bring that up.

as with everything GTA wasn't the trailblazer, they just took a brilliant idea and went to town.

My friend loves GTA and he never plays the storyline he just fools around and still gets a kick out of it.

I have San Andreas and thats what I do. It's the story where I start to lose interest, all the ridiculous crap you have to do. I just steal the nicest car I can find and drive around. Or I usually break into the airport and fly around, skydive into the ocean.

So I watched Serenity (the movie). It wasn't bad, but I definitely liked the tv series better. The characters in the movie seemed different from the original show. For example, River just wasn't effin' crazy enough. She was however, very very badass! :P
