Habitforming
Nice list of impending UFA's...but I gotta say Sakic to Calgary makes no sense. Not exactly looking to do 75 right now..but I'll do the top 10. 1. Niklas Lidstrom - Detroit Red Wings No brainer 2. Zdeno Chara - Ottawa Rangers is a good bet but there are loads of teams interested 3. Patrik Elias - Rangers Doubt it, there is still a cap and they need to save some $ for later 4. Joe Sakic - Colorado No Brainer 5. Jay McKee - Toronto Maple Leafs after long playoff run he will sign for less to stay 6. Marc Savard - Atlanta likely moving 8. Kenny Jonsson - Philadelphia maybe 9. Rob Blake - Philadelphia Not in 100 years he doesn't like Bobby Clarke 10. Wade Redden - Florida Will retire a senator unless they run him out 11. Ed Jovanovski - San Jose probably back to FLA I agree that 75 is too much for me to do but I think you guys have too many players changing addresses on the list. I can't see MTL picking up Arnott, Kubina and Witt, but one of the three is possible. Any other players they get will likely come via trades Edited June 16, 2006 by Habitforming
jetsniper
I'm sorry but I don't think I've ever laughed harder then when I saw Sakic going to Calgary. Funniest thing I've ever read. And I really like your prediction for Selanne, I have a feeling he'll re-sign in Anaheim too.
smon
I think Chara has a better chance of staying in Ottawa than Redden. Redden's been constantly booed on occasion, and while he does have roots in the community...chances are the Sens may decide that signing both isn't feasible if they want to get another goalie. Chara's a bigger fan favourite than Redden. I think it's a longshot that either will be UFAs, personally. The Sens can get Hasek back for 1mil a year..they'll buy out or trade Smolinski, possibly Havlat as well depending on his demands (he's only a RFA though) couple in the cap increase, and they can afford something like 14mil for the pair. If either hit free agency though, I think Florida's a big possibility because of the Jacques Martin connection and because its no secret the Panthers are gunning for D. ch_nl
Just a question. Why do people speculate about Kenny Jönsson?! He plays for Rögle BK in the Swedish second division and won't leave. He plays for his hometown and has allready turned down a lots of millions just to do so...

shortcat1
I have a really hard time with these. I suppose it's because I feel like I'm shooting in the dark a bit too much but there you go... The only ones I feel fairly confident about are the Lidstrom, McCabe and Samsonov predictions. Others which are kind of possible are Gerber to Tampa Bay and Roloson to Edmonton - the second being the most likely. As to the Arnott to Habs (and Kubina to Habs for that matter), I do believe that this is based upon primarily a 'wishful thinking' kind of basis - not likely to happen. :king: :hlogo: :king: Edited June 18, 2006 by shortcat1

shortcat1
I still think that the Arnott to the Canadiens is essentially a wish list pick. I doubt that this'll happen. With the extra money available due to the higher cap level, he'll have more fun shopping around. :king: :hlogo: :king:
