JoeLassister
Casino Royale - the recent Bond flick - was the best action movie ever. Nice path. What is your 007 top 3 guys? Mine is : 1. Goldeneye 2. Casino Royal 3. Goldfinger You can see that I prefer those made by Martin Campbell. Easily the best director a Bond movie ever had. I didn't see the Bond with Dalton and have to look some of the Connery's again though. Edited January 13, 2009 by JoeLassister
BTH
Casino Royale - the recent Bond flick - was the best action movie ever. No love for Die Hard? But really, my #1 action movie of all time is Leon or The Professional featuring a very young (and awesome) Natalie Portman.

BTH
Now there's a movie with unrealistic parenting. Unrealistic maybe but at no point does it try to get an emotional reaction out of you. T2 seems like it's got a couple of cheesy scenes thrown in "just for the critics."

I don't agree with either of those two statements, I could say the same things about Leon but oh well, it doesn't really matter. To each his own. goalerexpert86
Watched "Taken" yesterday, a very good movie. Sort of along the lines of the transporter movies, except maybe a bit better. Liam Neeson did a very good job in this role.

JoeLassister
I didn't have the chance to see any of the 5 movies in Mickey Rourke category, but some opinions on blogs and in the media tends to agree that Rourke has his name on the trophy already... BTH
The Wrestler got snubbed and thats incredibly lame. Yeah, I thought it would have made it over The Reader but The Wrestler was never a lock for a nomination. Rourke is a lock to win Best Actor though. CCoBB getting 13 nominations is crazy but it'll probably only win 1-5. I'm calling Slumdog for Best Picture.

jetsniper
Of the movies nominated, I'd agree. Slumdog was my favourite out of all of them too. I liked The Wrestler and The Dark Knight more then anything that was nominated though. I'm gonna rage if theres some random upset and Rourke doesn't walk away with it. BTH
LOTR, CCoBB, TWBB, NCFOM... is that a new "wave" ?? You mean with the abbreviations for the names? The original name is just too long to type out. It's the same thing for old movies like TGTB&TU.

First two LOTR were nominated for a combined 19 Oscars and won 6. TWBB was up for 8 and only won 2. NCFOM was also up for 8 but only took 4. And then like you said, CCoBB could follow suit. Dutch_Habs_Fan
Tomorrow im going to see Valkyrie, cant wait. Seems like a great movie. Btw 2 dutch actresses have roles, well at least one big role. Carice v. Houten is the wife of Tom Cruise in the movie....

Seems that a lot of "good" movies pup up with 4-5 words in the titles these days.

What kind of point is that?

Oh at the end of the day, I find the whole thing to be a bunch of bull too. It's still oddly interesting to me though. Actually it's probably cause I bet on it every year with my friends. They don't watch any of these kinds of movies where I mostly enjoy them. Easy money. Edited January 24, 2009 by jetsniper

It's pretty much any movie that goes over two words. It's an internet thing, it's easier to type TDK instead of The Dark Knight. It's not like people decided a couple years ago to start using longer titles. We're in the age of laziness.

It was more that i didn't remember that much "old" movies with long titles. Aside from TGTBATU, OFOTCN, BCATSK and DSOHILTSWALTB...
