  1. Was it even close? The guy was a monster this year....
  2. Leafs GM keeps talking up Sundin like an elite player, so that tells me he has a high % to be signed by leafs. Oh well I hope he takes a good look at the laughs and decides to go to the Habs.
  3. Screw Dallas treating Habs like a farm team... Ya I am not serious, let them have the guy, at least he would be out of the East!
  4. True, but playing net as a shorter player means your reflexes better be exceptional.
  5. My thoughts too. Since Montreals depth in net is now in a Habs uniform, Desjardins deserves a shot in Hamilton. What has Montreal got to lose? Plus I really dont think any of us armchair GM's can sum up his play unless we watched his career like a Montreal scout. Winning breeds optimism and Desjardins has won in ECHL level so why not give him a chance in the AHL?
  6. WooHoo!!! I listened to the game and didn't post in this thread any more as I thought no one was interested. I was mad in the second period when the Refs put Cyclones short 6 penalties in a row. And the multiple 5 on threes grrrr..... Desjardins played great and is a worthy winner of MVP. Now my hockey fix is lacking as Habs, Bulldogs, AVS were so long ago gone... Now it is Draft Habs Draft time!!!!!
  7. I have always voted and placed my vote with what I thought would be good regional representation.
  8. Hull, Howe, Gretzky, Sakic, Blake never made to the laughs either which proves they are not as valued by great hockey players as the dreamland laugh fans think.
  9. I hope he left a stinky on the ACC mens room floor before leaving. That would sum up the values of anything Leaf.
  10. Wow thats low... They offered Elmer Fudd $600,000 and a spanking new shotgun. Oh well, Leafs are well Leafs...
  11. Hahaha thats funny.... UFAs will have some interest in Montreal if their key concern is Winning. Kovalev and the young guys really came through this year!
  12. I just wiped out my entire post as it is like a flamebait and I really just HATE politicians..
  13. This is what I like about this draft and you made a good point. The draft is so deep that even the LEAFS cannot screw up their pick. (Unless they trade it ) I have a feeling after seeing how good defensively Detroit was, that teams are going to jump all over the available very good defenseman. This is going to leave the door wide open for good young Centers or scoring wingers for Montreal to chose from as they should be available. Not sure if the Habs will take any plumbers or "D" unless it is late round selection. I believe Gainey will target 2 Centers and a goalie with their first three picks. Assuming there are no trades. Even the second round should be a decent pick so lets get the party rolling here.... Draft Habs Draft! :hlogo: :hlogo: :hlogo:
  14. This Joe Colborne? 6'4" and can put up points... Joe Colborne
  15. Ooops, my error I thought it was for 2008. From the Gazette: As the 3 p.m. deadline passed, the only move announced by Canadiens GM Bob Gainey was trading goaltender Cristobal Huet to Washington in exchange for the Capitals' second-round draft pick in 2009 (acquired from Anaheim on Nov. 19 for Brian Sutherby).
  16. I believe Gainey and company are going to be able to pick up someone like a Jamie Arniel who should be a good centre. The future 2008 #1 pick is quoted: "He's a pure goal scorer," said Stamkos, who leads the team with 55 goals and 98 points this season. "Whenever he gets around the net, he's going to bury the puck. He has great speed and great vision. When I saw that trade go through, I was very happy and I'm glad that he was on my team now." Source: Jamie Arniel Article This draft is so heavy on "D" that a good centre like Arniel should be available. Even a goalie like Dustin Tokarski ranked 9th in N.A. goalies could slip here. 45 games 2.05 GAA playing with Spokane. I am excited with the depth of this draft and the fact Habs have 3 picks in the first two rounds. I expect two centers and a goalie first three picks.
  17. New Coach, well known in north america and fits Leaf Loser mentality:
  18. This was the first finals game I was able to watch. And I watched until the penalty, closed my eyes for just a second as I was tired and then BANG. Snooze, snooze, snooze and woke up to have missed the goal. Darn, darn, darn......
  19. BTH is INSANE !!!!! Thats all I am a going to say... Sundin would fit on any team and is a huge upgrade to Saku, Plek and the rest.
  20. $6mill wont cut it. He was underpaid by the Laughs and will get $8mill from any other team of his chosing. A two year $8mill per year contract will be max as he may not even want to play after one more year. He may even retire this year so who knows.............
  21. Sundin + Jagr! May as well go big if looking for offense. Both guys probably looking at 2 more years max. One can dream....
  22. Actually he said this about every team. He did not want to be a rental and did not want to come into a dressing room unless it is the start of a season. I think he is done with the dysfunctional Leaf organization that lowballed him at $5 - $5.5 mill last year and will demand market salary and a chance to get into the playoffs. Habs have a shot at thim as they can offer #1 centre position where Detroit would probably give him #2 centre. Ahhh but we are taking Toronto so they will offer him $8.5mill no trade for next year!
  23. Would it not be wise for Montreal to start drafting 6' + centers that can play a style like say Jason Arnott? As much as I like the Euros and Russian players I think a little toughness with talent at centre is what is needed to challenge for a cup.
  24. Pierre temperarily broke the interweb around the Habsworld node connected to internet. It was his landmark 1-kijillionth political thread talking about Prime Minister Harpers questionable choice of USA Prime Beef over Canadian back bacon and eggs for breakfast.
