  1. And a superb play by Slafkovsky to get the pass to Suzuki.
  2. Most likely we will only know if there is an actual deal that is consummated.
  3. Not going to ask you to like Armia, but there is more to it than that. We say that goaltending is 50% mental and the rest is in your head; much of the same applies to many other pro athletes. Armia wanted to play well, but until he started working with the Habs' mental performance coach, Francois Menard, he could not make it work. He's nominated because he didn't give up or sulk after being demoted, but worked with Menard to get to the point where he is able to consistently (at least for now) use his skills.
  4. Mental performance coaching can be huge. More players should take advantage of it.
  5. It's looking like no points tonight, but unfortunately we need to adjust your scoring plan! 2 goals for Armia 2 assists for Newhook 2 assists for Gallagher
  6. Koivu might have been more impactful, too, but sadly we never did find out.
  7. Mesar 0g0a this time but the Rangers win 4-3 in OT to take a 2-1 series lead.
  8. Really? Do you think Hughes has already decided that between Guhle, Hutson, Reinbacher and Mailloux he can't come up with a first pairing?
  9. I didn't know you were a Mesar fan! 😂😂😂
  10. He would definitely be an upgrade from White ...
  11. Mesar 3a in 7-4 loss to Erie (second star of the game). The series now tied at 1-1.
  12. A team filled with NHL prospects is not the way to succeed in the AHL, though, that's a different type of team construction.
  13. I think that most likely at least one of Hutson or Mailloux will be an excellent choice for PP1. Both are solid prospects and both have strong PP skills, we just need to wait and see whether (at least) one of them can transfer those skills to the NHL level. Konyushkov is still much further away, so realistically still a much lower probability of reaching this level.
  14. The D looks very promising, with a strong pipeline, but it's only a promise so far; the proof of the pudding will be in the eating, and we are not there yet. The forwards need more work, but between trades (D pipeline will enable some of those), drafting and future UFA signings, it looks possible, if Hughes continues his good work. So, absolutely agree that it's not all there yet, but, to me, it has the potential, and it is moving in the right direction. Maybe next year or two we can start to see what a contending version of the Habs will look like.
  15. Just before his penalty? One of those turnovers was Suzuki. They were basically panicking in their own zone at that point…
  16. Yeah, I thought the Struble-Kovacevic pairing was quite good, as little time as they have spent playing together.
  17. And he's not on a top team, either.
  18. 2-1 final, 36/37 saves by Dobes. After a bit of a shaky start to the season, he's now up to .905 for the full season.
  19. I suspect it was the run Konecny took at Slafkovsky less than a minute earlier.
  20. It is ... add to that how much Price (41 games) and Dryden (64!) played, though, and Primeau's sample size looks rather smaller.
  21. One game it is. Guhle got lucky on this one.
  22. I expect he was upset at Konecny's run at Slafkovský--which surely should have merited a penalty. But stupid followed by another stupid is still stupid.
  23. A single goal allowed by Akira Schmid--who got sent to Utica after the Devils acquired Jake Allen. Unintended consequences ...
