And considering that a goalie has only won the award 7 times in like 90 years tends to point that it is very rare for them to do so. Bournival, Fucale and a 1st? It's a steep price to pay but to be able to lock up our second pairing RH defense for years to come in our Cup contention window would be huge. Probably wouldn't work cap wise though unless there were moves in the off season

I agree with keeping Gallagher around. Just a player that every team would love to have, and an essential piece of the puzzle to our future success. His cap hit in the next few years may well be a bargain as well.

Getzlaf, Giordano, Kane, Rinne, Tavares, Nash, Voracek, and Tarasenko are all in the conversation. This year is wide open so far but I'm sure there will be more separation as the season progresses.

Was Malholtra on the ice for the game winner or was he just the first off the bench to get to P.K? Hell of a way to pull out a win against one of the league's best teams. The Preds defense is incredible The powerplay is coming along pretty good and should continue to be better than the first half of the season. When guys like DD are standing in front of the goalie on a P.K clapper from the point, you know the team is buying in. Can't say enough about Carey Price.

I disagree Kessel would have better numbers if he was a Hab. We have played a defense first system for years now, compared to the run and gun style of the Laffs (edit: the former run and gun style). Pacioretty over the last few years is scoring goals at a better pace than Kessel actually. And to say that Patches has no heart or guts is absurd. The guy gets his neck broke, has an appendectomy among numerous other injuries, and barely misses any time. A leader doesn't have to go out there and fight or turn up the radio in the dressing room to be considered one. The guy is emerging as the front runner as Captain for your Montreal Canadiens, so you better believe he is a leader.

Speaking only for myself, I come to his defense because: The haters act like he is an incompetent buffoon, which is not the case. The defenders can also say when he makes a bad decision, compared to the haters who will NEVER say he made a good decision. Defenders are merely results based, and will turn on him as soon as he fails. Haters will be saying I told you so when he does. Haters don't have any logic in their argument. The team is successful DESPITE MT, when the team plays bad it is BECAUSE of MT. Yet another thread that goes down the MT path of destruction. Okay, I have been sitting on my couch watching the entire game and I have only seen 1 Hab goal. Habs have scored every time I went to get a beer or go to the bathroom. Not sure if that means I am good luck when out of the room or am drinking too much

Don't forget that he missed practically his whole last year of junior. From what I see when watching him closely, I see a player who has all the offensive talent in the world, but he is simply not putting it all together. He is just slightly on the losing end of some puck battles, the extra deke, the pass, the shot and the transition. Think how many times you can see a play developing or a chance, and then say " so close" when he is involved. I have seen much improvement from his rookie season and I believe it is just a matter of time before he gains the confidence in his talent. We are talking about a good, humble 20 year old kid here. His teammates, bosses, fans can all see his talent, he just has to believe in himself. I'm no where near panicking
