Trading draft picks and prospects to add top talent to improve your team. If you look at the trades he got lucky with Them. they could of been bad , Domi was a question mark, he didn't even want Tatar and the way Sergachev has died down the Drouin trade could of been bad also.

Your not listening his not adding top talent to this team his trading talent for talent. Got Weber for Subban that's not adding Got Suzuki and Tatar by trading Pacioretty that's not adding He got Domi by trading galchenyuk not adding Only top players he added to this team without taking away from it was Drouin and Danault.

His trades are for mostly 4th line players. Other gm's make less trade's but for better talented players / top line players.

That's bull if we're a team close to wining a cup players will sign here. Also theirs always the trade route, so stop using the disadvantage as a excuse.

I think if his calling this a retool, the retool should be done. We now have the cap space and the prospects that we can make trades to add to this team. We didn't have that 3 years ago when we started this. But if he is going to continue to not add to the team and let the kids play , its a rebuild. he should not be giving fans false hope that we could make a cup run now. When he has no intention of making a cup run.

My problem with Bergevin is if he's going with youth over NHL star players, then call it a 5 year rebuild plan so fans know theirs no playoff expectations. If we make the playoffs that's great and good for the kids to build on, but don't expect a cup, in the rebuild. Don't try and sell this as a reset, then when you're at the point where you have the cap space and top end prospects pool you do nothing to improve the team. Fans don't know what to expect from this organization. Are we going to make trades and sign free agent's to improve the team and push for a cup run. Or we going with youth and building from within so don't expect a cup run. The last 2 years he's done a great job rebuilding our prospect pool and putting us in a better spot for the future, then this team was 4 years ago. But i feel if its a retool or reset like Bergevin said, we should be looking at adding to the NHL team to make it better, and trying to win a cup now. Because we now have the cap space and prospects to make trades and make this team stronger. Something we didn't have 3/4 years ago.

According to EK Colorado is interested in Drouin . So I guess he's not going there well because after all its EK lol.

I agree with you don't understand why people still think Hudon and McCarron still have trade value at this point in their careers.

In my eyes I Would rather trade Price and Weber , because I want to see them win a cup they deserve it. But unfortunately it's not going to happen here in Montreal.

Price =10mil Weber=7mil Total = 17mil 10-4= 6mil 7-2=5mil total= 11mil We take on 6mil a year , but we gain 11mil a year in cap space. Plus we'll be getting 1st round picks and top prospects/ young NHL ready prospects. So how is that being a bad gm?🤔 Oh I forgot I guess you like losing players for nothing.

It was more of a disaster because they never filled their team needs. They kept on picking forwards and left a hole in net and on D that they never filled.

How is saving more cap space and getting a higher return being a bad gym 🤔

I just don't get why we're holding on to Price and Weber And Petry.If you want to play the kids and not give up top prospects to win now that's fine. But Price and Weber want to win now not 3 or 4 years down the road. In 2 years time if this team is still a bubble team i see Price and Weber asking for trades so they can go win a cup before its to late for them. We have Primeau give him the keys to the net and let Primeau, Suzuki, Poehling, Kotkaniemi develop into the new core together. If we eat 4mil off Price's contract team's will want him At 6mil a year, more then at 10mil. And if we eat 2mil off Weber's contract, at 5mil a year team's would want him also. Then we play the kids and let them develop together. Trading Weber , Price and Petry would fill holes in areas that we need filled, and help with the rebuild. Our core group would then be Domi, Danault, Drouin , Gallagher, Armia, Our young guys would be Kotkaniemi, Suzuki, Poehling, Mete, Primeau, Fleury, Romanov, Cousins. We let the young guys play and develop. Give them the top mins and lets see what they can do.

Yeah from what I hear its phoenixes I think 3rd and 4th best prospects and the 3rd could become a 1st if Hall resigns with them if I am not mistaken. But yeah I think it's over pay but that's what you do if you're all in and want to win a cup. You do what you got to do to get the guy you want, that you think would help put you over the top.

To be honest he's been saying this for the last 5 years. nothing has changed except the way they have been drafting the last 2 years.

I think it's more of the fact team's now know him and have adjusted to his play. The areas that were open to him last year aren't as open. He now needs to adjust
