Its the lack of depth on this team . I said this from the start that Bergevin needed to make a trade to fill in the hole left by Drouin. But I got ripped for it. Guys are playing more minutes then they should, which means they're more tired on the ice, which means defense break downs. It happens every time they're injuries to this team. 4 line guys can't turn into 1st line guys out night.

So at what point do you look at Bergevin? Its his retool, his players other than Price and Gallagher. Its his 2nd coaching staff hired and its the same thing every year with this team. So at what point is it on Bergevin?

Thats because of giveaways, NJ capitalize on all our giveaways.

His current level of play has a lot to do with the guys in front of him. And theirs a lot of teams who need goaltending right now that want to wi. And would love to have him.

That's exactly what I have been trying to say. Pick one if you want to keep cap space and not sign anyone then your in rebuild and you don't need Price, Weber, Petry , Tatar and Gallagher on this team. Trade them all play the kids and rebuild this team. Other wise spend the money and get them help

We need to bring in NHL level talent and you do that by using your cap money. Get off your ass Bergevin and do something,

Is it CJ the coach's team overall D with his system? or is it someone else? Because the overall D coaching is horrible .

Forget their isn’t any point . Everyone is happy with the sit back do nothing save money approach. Don't see why we need Price, Weber, Petry , Gallagher and Tatar on this team if no one cares about wining now. We should just trade them all save all even more of the cap money and just play the kids for the next 10 years.oh well no need to go around in circles⭕on this since wining cups don't matter anymore.

I just find it funny that everyone gives Bergevin a pass. 8 years of the same old shit. Like I said it's not about wining and wining a cup anymore and some how everyone is ok with it. Hey here's to 10 more years of Bergevin and his cap space. Who needs a cup we have 24 of them that's plenty.

My times have changed, we have become ok with mediocrity as long as we don't spend cap money. They're are gm's who have had success wining cups in this cap world making smart trades and smart UFA signings. But hey we have cap space who needs a cup.

Its about spending and getting talent to win. Its not about signing only bottom level talent in hopes they can be 1st line players over night.

I am sorry I guess mediocrity here in habs land is the new bar. gone are the days of it better be a cup Championship or your in trouble. I have seen other gm's getting fired for missing the playoffs just once. But here in Montreal it has become ok not to make the playoffs. Its pretty sad.

Look at the jets and how they are run, its night and day compared to us. They can't get ufa's to go their but they still pull off trades for top end talent to make their team competitive. They just don't sit back and do nothing.

As much as I like Fleury , Suzuki and Kotkaniemi, they should all be developing in the AHL right now. Chariot is Ben 2.0 so is that really an upgrade? Thompson is a great 4th liner. But in the last 2 years what upgrades to our top 6 have been done? Or our top 4 on D. Zero0️⃣ . All that has been ever added to this team are 3rd/4th line players or/and rookies that aren't fully developed and/or NHL ready. Why is our team being run like a small market team? We should be run like the big market team that we are. Spend to the cap every year add top end talent To the team. Don't put AHL players on the team and say hey as long as Price doesn't let in any goals all season we should be fine. Because that's Exactly what's been happening here since Price became an elite player in this league.

I totally agree, remember when I made the post earlier in the year about management/fans and media and the notion with them that as long as we have Price anything can happen and we don't need to put talented players in front of him. This is exactly what I was talking about. Theres been no upgrades to this team in 2 years, and yet everyone thinks things will be different. Well same old team, same old tail spins , same old excuses.

Not just him the coaching staff as a whole. Its just been bad especially the special teams.

Like I have been saying when ever we get injuries we go on a slide. It's because we don't have the depth on the team.

It just looks like these guys have quit on all the coach's. They're not playing any type of system out on the ice and look lost. I have never seen anything like this from this team before.

Yeah but this slide started when they got hurt. But in my eyes this is a team that looks lost when on the ice. This team isn't playing the coach's system and that's on every aspect of the game.... Offense/defense and special teams. The players are just not listening to anyone.
